From Bachelor to Beloved: The Clooney Love Story
After years of being known as a confirmed bachelor, George Clooney ultimately found his equal in the remarkable, successful human rights attorney Amal Clooney. However, it required some time for Amal to believe their relationship was genuine.
“We didn’t discuss marriage during our courtship, and I proposed unexpectedly,” George revealed to CBS in November 2020. “[It] required a significant amount of time for her to accept. I was kneeling for, approximately, 20 minutes. I eventually said, ‘Look, I’m going to injure my hip.’ We shared that anecdote with her parents, and they responded, ‘Is there a problem with his hip?’”
The couple initially encountered each other in Lake Como, Italy, in 2013. Subsequently, later that same year, they enjoyed their first date in London. The two exchanged vows in a fairytale wedding at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice, Italy, in September 2014.
Although the couple didn’t initially intend to expand their family, Us Weekly verified in February 2017 that they were anticipating a child. The pair welcomed their twins, Alexander and Ella, in June 2017.
