2025 A Year of Unforgettable Farewells in Entertainment
The entertainment world bid a somber farewell to numerous iconic figures throughout 2025.
During the initial six months, we received the sorrowful announcements of the passing of luminaries such as David Lynch, Michelle Trachtenberg, George Foreman, Val Kilmer, and Duck Dynasty personality Phil Robertson.
As summer unfolded, we said goodbye to Anne Burrell, Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk Hogan, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Brandon Blackstock. The month of September marked the demise of esteemed actor Robert Redford.
October witnessed the passing of renowned zoologist Jane Goodall, cinematic icon Diane Keaton, Grammy-adorned R&B vocalist D’Angelo, among others. The subsequent month, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland succumbed at the young age of 24, while Academy Award-nominated actress Pauline Collins passed at 85 following her struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
November commenced with the fatalities of actress Sally Kirkland and ex-ABC News correspondent Jim Avila; additionally, musician Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Prince’s esteemed collaborator Jellybean Johnson also departed. Towards the end of November, German screen veteran Udo Kier, reggae maestro Jimmy Cliff, and songwriter Jackson Browne’s son, actor Ethan Browne, similarly passed on.
