Joseph ‘Joe’ Kennedy Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald

The couple, who married in October 1914, were the parents of nine children. Their eldest son, Joe Jr., was born in 1915. They continued to expand their family until their youngest son, Ted, was born in 1932 — the last child Joe Sr. and Rose had together.Joe Sr. passed away at age 81 in 1969, eight years after suffering a stroke that paralyzed his right side. Kathleen married William Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington, in 1944. She died in a plane crash at age 28 in 1948.

Eunice Shriver

Eunice was best known for her philanthropic endeavors, playing a significant role in establishing the Special Olympics.
