Aaron Paul swaps Hollywood Hills for Parisian charm citing fires and family.
Aaron Paul is now among the numerous performers opting to depart Los Angeles.
“Once the L.A. fires occurred, we simply realized our time in Los Angeles was over, so we divested our L.A. property and relocated to Paris,” the 46-year-old Breaking Bad star shared with the Daily Mail at The Only at 1850 by American Express event during the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix on Friday, November 21.
“Paris is incredible,” Paul informed the publication, noting his move there alongside his wife, Lauren Paul, and their two young offspring.
“We relocated for the children's sake,” he continued, further stating that he and his spouse “had always envisioned spending a year overseas.”
“Our desire was simply to immerse ourselves in an entirely distinct culture,” he expressed.

During July, People disclosed that Paul had made his Los Feliz residence available for sale, offering the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom property for $10 million. The abode — conceived by renowned architect Stiles O. Clements and formerly belonging to Robert Pattinson, Tim Curry, Noah Wyle, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Jim Parsons — spans 1.5 acres and merges “original architectural elements with tasteful contemporary enhancements,” as per the property description.
“Aberdeen served as a sanctuary for my family, and we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have shared so many life experiences within its walls over the years,” Paul remarked about his previous dwelling in a statement to People then. “This home and its legacy will always remain cherished in our memories.”
Paul represents merely the newest Hollywood elite to depart the U.S. for an existence abroad. Both Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell opted to move to Europe following Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential win.
“I'm content. Clay is content. I long for my other children. I miss my companions. I miss numerous aspects of my life back home, and I am endeavoring to establish a residence here in this picturesque nation,” O’Donnell stated in a TikTok clip explaining her relocation to Ireland and its rationale. “And once all citizens can enjoy equal rights safely in America, that's when we will contemplate returning.”
DeGeneres, on her end, acknowledged that political factors influenced her choice to move to the U.K. with her wife, Portia de Rossi.
“We arrived here the day prior to the election and awoke to numerous messages from our acquaintances featuring crying emojis, and I thought, ‘He won,'” she recounted during a conversation with English broadcaster Richard Bacon in July. “And we were like, ‘We're remaining here.'”
In April, O’Donnell shared with Us her astonishment regarding DeGeneres’ stated motive for moving abroad.
“I haven't typically known Ellen to express political views, so I was taken aback to learn she departed due to President Trump. That genuinely surprised me,” she exclusively revealed to Us Weekly then. “I've always been politically engaged, neither superior nor inferior, just a distinct approach to living.
