Abby Lee Miller Shares Touching Memory of Diane Keaton Before Her Passing
Abby Lee Miller is sharing a fond memory involving Diane Keaton prior to the celebrated actress's passing.
“This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime Hollywood encounter! I was having my hair styled when Diane Keaton‘s kids requested to take a photo with me!” Miller, who is 60, shared on Instagram on Saturday, October 11, soon after reports confirmed the esteemed actress’ demise. “Imagine this iconic film star, right there in Santa Monica, asking if her children could pose for a photo? Unbelievable!”
She further added, “Naturally, Ms. Keaton ~ and could I possibly get a picture with you too? She will be mourned by countless people, but her artistic contributions will endlessly captivate viewers! My gratitude to you ~ Diane Keaton.”
Reports emerged on Saturday confirming Keaton’s death at 79 years old, with her family's representative informing People that she passed away in California. Further details regarding her passing were not disclosed to the publication, as her loved ones “requested privacy” during their period of grief following Keaton’s demise. Us Weekly made an attempt to obtain a statement.
On the subsequent day, Keaton’s dear friend, Carole Bayer Sager, offered observations about her final encounter with the actress prior to her passing.
“I met with her a couple of weeks back, and she appeared notably slender,” Sager informed People in an interview released on Sunday, October 12. “She had significantly reduced her weight.”
Sager mentioned that her interactions with Keaton had decreased this year, attributing it to California's wildfires which prompted the Father of the Bride icon to reside in Palm Springs for several months.
“She relocated to Palm Springs because her residence sustained internal damage, requiring extensive cleaning,” Sager recounted. “She remained there for a period, and upon her return, I was quite taken aback by the extent of her weight loss.”

From Sager’s viewpoint, Keaton represented “an enchanting presence for all.”
“I adored her deeply. She was truly unique; her vigor alone illuminated any space,” she stated. “She was cheerful and optimistic, constantly capturing images of her surroundings. Her creativity knew no bounds; she was perpetually innovating.”
Numerous public figures have expressed sorrow over Keaton’s loss — among them Bette Midler, who was among the initial stars to acknowledge the news.
“The magnificent, stunning, remarkable Diane Keaton has passed away. Words cannot express the profound sorrow I feel,” Midler, 79, posted on Instagram on Saturday. “She was uproarious, entirely authentic, and utterly free of deceit or the rivalry one might anticipate from such a prominent figure. Her public persona was her true self … oh, la, lala!”
Mandy Moore, in contrast, remembered collaborating with Keaton on the 2007 film Because I Said So. “It’s often said not to encounter your idols, but I had the privilege of working with one of mine and even referring to her as ‘mom’ for several months. A lifelong distinction,” she shared on Instagram. “What a radiant individual Di remains and was.”
Moore further stated, “Her departure saddens me deeply for numerous reasons, not least because it seemed she would grace us indefinitely, enchanting us with her abilities and charisma (and her fashion sense, truly)!!! Among the finest talents to ever exist. My heartfelt condolences to her offspring and family.”
