Allison Holker Shares Heartfelt Tribute to tWitch on Third Anniversary

Allison Holker paid tribute to her late spouse, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, as she marked the third year since his passing.

“Today marks the three-year anniversary of Stephen tWitch Boss’s death on December 13, 2022. We honor your memory and treasure all the wonderful moments we shared with you,” Holker, age 37, posted on Instagram on Saturday, December 13, accompanied by nostalgic family pictures and dance clips. “We adored laughing, inventing new things, and dancing together. Our love for you will last forever.”

Holker mentioned that she recently “saw some lovely tributes” online dedicated to Boss, which moved her deeply.

“I am grateful for your constant love and encouragement,” she finished her Saturday message. “It truly means everything to my children and me.”

Boss took his own life in December 2022 at age 40. The dancer’s survivors include his mother, siblings, and children Weslie, 17, Maddox, 9, and Zaia, 6, besides Holker. (Weslie is Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship, whom Boss raised as his own.)

Stephen’s mother, Connie Boss Alexander, likewise posted a touching message to commemorate the anniversary of her son’s death.

“Although three years have passed, it feels like an eternity, yet also like just a moment. I long for you immensely. I still anticipate seeing your text message or hearing your call,” Connie wrote on Instagram on Friday, December 12. “When I discover something funny, my initial thought is to share it with you — and then I recall. My cherished son, as we recognize the date you left our physical world, we persist in honoring you and the wonderful life you led.”

She continued, “I recall every priceless moment, significant and minor. Experiences that once seemed commonplace have turned into valuable memories that I hold daily. My heart will keep beating in anticipation of hearing the reverberation of yours.”

Connie also mentioned in her note to Stephen that his children “are maturing very quickly.”

“Each day they resemble you more in appearance and movement,” Connie ended her homage. “God gave us these small copies of you, and I am certain you are incredibly proud — radiating love from your current location.”

Allison Holker Writes Message to Her Children Regarding Resilience Following Their Father tWitch's Death

Connie, Holker, and specifically Weslie are working to ensure that Maddox and Zaia retain memories of Stephen.

“When my siblings are older, I don’t want them to feel like, ‘[You're] not biologically related to him.’ I’ll explain, ‘We are his children, even though we didn’t get to spend time with him,’” Weslie stated during an April installment of her and her mother’s “Between Us” podcast. “My greatest concern is that they might eventually resent not just him, but also us for having had that experience with him. I want to avoid that outcome completely. I would rather prioritize their emotional needs over my own feelings.”

Weslie became visibly emotional reflecting on the loss her younger siblings experienced so early in life.

“I know Maddox just longs for a male figure to admire who isn't always discussing cosmetics,” Weslie continued. “We make an effort to understand basketball and stay updated on his interests, but it’s challenging. I simply wish he still had that connection.”

Holker, for her part, emphasized that Maddox and Zaia are fortunate to have such a caring older sister like Weslie.

“You possess such awareness regarding these emotions, but I don’t want you to constantly dwell on that or be guided by it,” Holker advised her eldest child. “They won't resent you. Instead, they will wish they had experienced similar moments with him, but they will cherish that you are instructing them and loving them in the same manner [and] conveying the same positive spirit he would have shared with them.”
