Amy Duggar King Opens Up About Husband Dillon's Health Battle and Celiac Diagnosis
Amy Duggar King and her spouse, Dillon King, continue to seek clarity regarding his well-being after a series of recent health issues.
“It became clear he was experiencing immense discomfort, truly excruciating pain, to the extent that he was confined to sitting,” the 38-year-old Amy shared in a candid conversation with Us Weekly, ahead of the launch of her memoir, Holy Disruptor: Shattering the Shiny Facade by Getting Louder With the Truth. “He was unable to play golf. For some time, he couldn't partake in many of his favorite activities.”
The pair, united in marriage since 2015, consulted “numerous physicians,” and following “a battery of examinations,” Dillon received a diagnosis of celiac disease.
“For a decade, I inadvertently harmed him [with] sweet treats, baked goods, and Italian flatbreads, among other items,” Amy joked. “Concurrently, the acid felt as though it was eroding his intestinal lining.”

Dillon’s ailments are so “intense” that they led to a “tear in his diaphragm.” Amy stated that she and Dillon have implemented measures to alleviate his discomfort.
“We've modified his eating habits, obviously, I've ceased preparing those foods, and he's showing significant improvement,” she informed Us. “His pain has lessened considerably. He's recovering well, though it remains an issue we're closely observing and determining future actions for, as he will probably require an operation eventually.”
Amy had earlier disclosed Dillon's health struggles during his April birthday celebration. “Friends, I cherish this man! Dax possesses the finest father imaginable, and he is deeply beloved by countless family members and acquaintances!” she posted on Instagram then. “Typically, we would commemorate in a grand fashion, but at present, we are confronting potentially serious medical issues. Today, I humbly request your prayers for him. I trust in God's care, yet we appreciate all spiritual support! I can conceive of no greater present for him!”
The former 19 Kids and Counting personality assured her spouse in the accompanying message that they “are capable of overcoming any obstacle as a united front.”

Towards the end of that month, Amy elaborated that the tear in his diaphragm “resulted in critical organs, such as his kidney and portions of his gastrointestinal tract, relocating into his thoracic cavity.”
“He continues to operate, remains a human being, and is still living,” Amy clarified for Us. “However, we are keeping a close watch and ensuring his well-being and health. Nevertheless, we currently lack comprehensive explanations.”
Amy highlighted, nonetheless, that Dillon is experiencing “significantly less pain … which is a positive development.”
Within her forthcoming memoir, Holy Disruptor, Amy reflects upon the initial stages of her romantic journey with her current husband. The couple, parents to their 5-year-old son, Daxton, recently commemorated a decade of marriage.
