Apple Martin Serenades Nashville Stage Following In Dad Chris Martin's Footsteps
Apple Martin appears to be following in her father's footsteps.
Apple, the eldest child of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin, made an unexpected appearance onstage at Nashville’s Cannery Hall on Friday, October 17, performing with the band Jade Street.
The 21-year-old performed “Satellites,” her recent collaboration with musicians Eli Meyuhas and Zachery Zwelling, who formed Jade Street at Vanderbilt University, where Apple is currently a senior. As reported by The Vanderbilt Hustler, Chris, aged 48, was present in the audience when Apple took the stage.
“The celebrated Grammy-winning vocalist conveyed to admirers that although he was pleased to greet them, his primary purpose for being there was to back his daughter, and he wished for the evening not to revolve around him,” penned the publication’s Skeylor DeLoach.

A TikTok video of Apple’s performance shows her delivering a song with a melodious soprano tone, dressed in a plain white tank top and a black skirt. She moved rhythmically to the tune while her fellow students played their guitars.
Paltrow, age 53, is also mother to Moses, 19, with Chris. The former couple declared their “conscious uncoupling” in 2014, with their divorce becoming official two years subsequent. Gwyneth wed Brad Falchuck in 2018.
The acclaimed actress and Goop's creator experienced considerable distress when her eldest child departed for Vanderbilt. (Apple is pursuing studies in law, history, and society.)
“This has been a significant change,” Paltrow revealed solely to Us Weekly in 2022. “I wasn’t sure what to anticipate, but I understood it would be challenging since Apple and I share such a strong bond and were constantly together. Yet, I had no inkling of the extent. It felt like the most profound emotional pain I’ve ever [experienced]. For weeks, it was as if the most important person in my life had ended our relationship. It was awful.”

She added, “Currently, I am becoming more accustomed to it, and observing her happiness and smooth adjustment also provides comfort. That truly changes everything.”
Recently, Apple has begun to enter the fashion industry, featuring alongside her mother in a recent Gap advertisement released last month. Furthermore, she has finalized a significant agreement to become the newest celebrity ambassador for Self-Portrait, a London-based label recognized for its feminine, glamorous style.
“I frequently remind myself of my immense gratitude for these chances,” Apple stated in a discussion with The Telegraph, published on October 14. “I am aware that this is far from a typical upbringing in any respect.”
She further mentioned that “my parents were very successful in instilling in me the principle that I am not owed anything. I am required to exert effort.”

Regardless of her prominent upbringing, Apple explained that she keeps herself grounded by maintaining a “typical university life” and “spending time with friends” away from public attention.
“That is how I prefer to relax,” she clarified. “We’ll gather and have small guitar sessions; one individual will play while the others vocalize. I also enjoy viewing reality television with my my companions. On one occasion, we spent five hours on the sofa, simply watching classic installments of America’s Next Top Model.”
