"Dr. Wendy Osefo and her spouse, Edward Osefo, have returned safely to their family and are in positive spirits," a representative for the couple informed Us in an official statement. "They appreciate the immense concern and backing shown by friends, admirers, and professional associates. The Osefos, with their legal counsel, anticipate their court appearance. The couple's apprehension occurred over a year subsequent to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office's visit to their residence concerning a reported break-in. In April 2024, Wendy and Eddie asserted that upon their return from a trip to Jamaica, numerous luxury handbags and jewelry items had been pilfered.

A subsequent claim, filed with Jewelers Mutual Insurance, made no mention of Wendy's gold diamond anniversary band. The settlement from Travelers Insurance was similarly omitted.

Following the reported break-in, officials allegedly observed pictures of Wendy adorning the supposedly stolen ring. A search warrant executed at their residence revealed that a minimum of 15 items Wendy and Eddie listed as stolen were present within their home.
