Ashley Tisdale Hints at Resilience Amidst Mom Group Drama

Ashley Tisdale Hints at Resilience Amidst Mom Group Drama

Ashley Tisdale French appears to be sending a subtle message amidst the current controversy surrounding her reportedly “difficult” former mothers’ group.

“Discover your inner resilience,” Tisdale French, 40, posted on Instagram on Friday, January 9, alongside a video of herself practicing yoga against a desert landscape.

The High School Musical actress added, “Launching February 1st” in her caption and tagged her lifestyle brand, Being Frenshe.

While Tisdale French seems to be hinting at a new collection for her wellness line, she recently demonstrated her own courage to discuss her personal life and relationships. Tisdale French recently went viral after publishing an essay titled “Ending a Friendship With My Toxic Mom Group” for New York Magazine.

What Really Happened Between Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore

“I recall being omitted from a few group gatherings, and I was aware of them because Instagram consistently showed me every photograph and Instagram Story,” she wrote in her The Cut essay. “I began to feel like I was being shut out of the group, noticing every way they appeared to exclude me.”

The former child star continued, “I told myself it was all in my imagination, and it wasn’t significant. However, I could sense a growing separation between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even notice that I wasn’t around much.”

Tisdale French didn’t mention any of her former companions by name in the profile, though she notably formed a friendship with fellow celebrity moms Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor and others in 2021 after they all welcomed babies around the same time.

“Hilary is incredibly stylish and she is a wonderful mother. She and Matt [Koma, her husband] have become very close friends with my husband and me,” Moore, 41, previously told InStyle in May 2022. “They have a child who’s six weeks younger than [my son] Gus. And so, we had babies at the same time and she, being the amazing mother that she is, created a supportive mom community.”

Moore added at the time, “Somehow, I was invited to join it and it’s been fantastic. I’ve made so many wonderful friends. We all got together earlier this week for dinner and we attend baby classes together and it’s wonderful. I’m very, very thankful to have those resources and just incredible women to be able to rely on. We’re all navigating this stage of our lives together.”

Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore Felt 'Blindsided' by Ashley Tisdale's Essay

Ashley and husband Christopher French also welcomed their first baby, daughter Jupiter, in 2021. Their second daughter, Emerson, arrived in 2024.

Over time, Ashley and the rest of the mom group started to drift apart from one another.

“The core of the problems was that some of the women simply became closer friends with each other, and Ashley began to feel left out,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier in January. “There were instances when gatherings or get-togethers were arranged at the last minute, often casual outings or quick dinners, and Ashley wasn’t included.”

The insider, however, emphasized that there was never any “malicious intent” to deliberately exclude Ashley.

“Friendships naturally evolved and some people connected more than others,” the source claimed to Us. “They felt like she was making a larger issue out of everything. The tension largely stemmed from what the group perceived as a difference in priorities and values.”
