Atlanta Housewife Kelli Ferrell Sued Over Alleged Unpaid Wages
Atlanta Housewives personality Kelli Ferrell is facing a legal challenge from an ex-staff member alleging unpaid wages, as exclusively revealed by Us Weekly.
A lawsuit was initiated on August 27 by Saniyah Casey, targeting Ferrell, age 40, and her eatery, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles. Casey’s complaint cited contract violation, failure to pay wages, and the infliction of emotional suffering.
Casey stated she commenced employment at Nana’s on July 8 and continued until August 15. She asserted that she was compensated only once for her work throughout that period. Her claim detailed an outstanding balance of more than $2,000 in salary and arrears.
According to Casey, Ferrell neglected to disburse the “stipulated compensation for work performed, notwithstanding numerous requests for payment communicated verbally, through text, and by email.”
The legal filing sought $5,000 in damages for psychological anguish.
Casey articulated, “This situation has significantly impacted my mental well-being emotionally. The financial uncertainty stemming from my employer’s non-payment has been devastating.”
She further stated, “The ambiguity regarding the receipt of my earnings, combined with the psychological burden of dedicating myself fully to my job while they deliberately withhold my pay, has made me feel worthless and intensely anxious. This act of disloyalty has gravely affected my psychological state.”

Casey sought a grand total of $18,788.52 covering unpaid salary, retroactive pay, and unitemized compensation, in addition to legal expenditures. She asserted that she was contemplating criminal charges against Ferrell for “intentionally holding back payments, issuing payments without proper records, and neglecting to remit and collect taxes on those wages.”
A spokesperson for Ferrell informed Us, “Ms. Casey’s compensation experienced a two-week delay owing to a standard administrative oversight that can arise during the establishment of a new enterprise. Instead of accepting a certified check, which was immediately extended to settle the issue, she opted to file a civil lawsuit — a suit that considerably overstates the harm she purports to have endured during her short one-month employment at Nana’s Chicken & Waffles.”
The representative further commented, “Had this circumstance genuinely inflicted the degree of emotional hardship asserted, it would be logical for her to have accepted the payment when it was repeatedly offered. Rather, it seems Ms. Casey is trying to capitalize on Ms. Potter-Ferrell’s current involvement in a national television production, utilizing this minor and rectifiable problem to gain notoriety and media exposure.”
