Bachelor Nation's Daisy Kent and Thor Herbst Announce Engagement in Tuscany

Daisy Kent, who was the runner-up on season 28 of The Bachelor, and her partner Thor Herbst have announced their engagement, celebrating over a year of their relationship.

“Love you forever,” the 27-year-old Kent shared on Instagram on Monday, October 20, accompanying her post with several photos capturing the romantic proposal.

Herbst chose Tuscany, Italy, as the picturesque location, kneeling in a verdant field with an ancient stone building forming the backdrop.

For the special moment, Kent was seen in a brown and white polka dot dress, while Herbst wore khakis paired with a button-up shirt.

Viewers of Bachelor Nation were introduced to Kent during the 2024 season of The Bachelor, featuring Joey Graziadei. Kent voluntarily left the show during the last rose ceremony, sensing Graziadei’s deep affection for Kelsey Anderson. Graziadei subsequently proposed to Anderson, and the couple is now organizing their upcoming nuptials.

After her appearance on the reality dating series, Kent rekindled her relationship with Herbst, a former college boyfriend. The two had stayed platonic friends since their university days. Us Weekly verified that Kent and Herbst reignited their romantic spark in April 2024.

“He initiated contact with her, and things have progressed very positively,” an insider exclusively informed Us back then.

In the subsequent month, Kent discussed the reasons their initial college relationship didn't succeed.

“Our dating period wasn't extended, but we maintained a strong friendship afterward, and our entire university friend circle remains very tight-knit,” she detailed on a May 2024 installment of the “Scrubbing In” podcast.

Kent further mentioned that their separation at that point was “mutually beneficial” for them both.

“We simply weren't ready for a committed relationship,” she elaborated. “And I believe we were both, at that stage, fully immersed in the college experience. Our priority was simply enjoying ourselves.”

Kent recounted that Herbst contacted her following her return from The Bachelor, and they opted to “try out” a romance. She also highlighted Herbst’s understanding regarding their relationship being under public scrutiny.

“Before arriving here, I contacted him, asking, ‘I might be questioned about this. Would you prefer I keep silent?’ He responded, ‘Share whatever you wish. But if you ever feel uneasy, simply state that it’s a private matter between us,’” she revealed on the podcast. “Therefore, he fully supports my decisions in this context, though he never anticipated any of this occurring.”

Earlier in the year, Kent disclosed that she and Herbst had advanced their relationship by cohabiting.

“Thor and I are now sharing a residence,” Kent joked in a March TikTok clip. “We’ll observe how that unfolds.”

Kent relocated into Herbst’s Las Vegas home, and the former Bachelor contestant discussed her experience of transitioning from Los Angeles to the Nevada city.

“We’ve recently begun cohabitation, and the move-in process is still ongoing,” Kent clarified. “We completed a road trip transporting a significant portion of my belongings from L.A., and then I flew in days ago with additional items, planning another drive around Monday or Tuesday to bring the rest of my possessions.”
