Bachelor Nation's Joey and Kelsey Keep Wedding Plans Under Wraps Amid Extended Engagement
Former Bachelor star Joey Graziadei and his fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, are still in the final stages of sorting out their wedding plans before their big day.
“Currently, we are in the process of identifying a wedding location, though it’s still to be determined,” Kelsey, 27, disclosed exclusively to Us Weekly as she attended the start of New York Fashion Week at the Raising Cane’s runway show at The Standard High Line. “I think we’ll hold off on announcing it because I’ve mentioned potential wedding destinations in the past, and people tend to run with it, only for me to then realize, ‘Oh, actually, that’s no longer the plan.’”
She continued, “So, it’s TBD. Once we have something confirmed, we’ll share more details. But we are in the initial phases of planning, and it's all very exciting.”
Fans of Bachelor Nation first encountered Joey, now 30, when he competed for Charity Lawson’s heart during season 20 of The Bachelorette. After finishing as the runner-up, Joey was selected as the next lead of The Bachelor — where he met and proposed to Kelsey.
Why Kelsey Anderson and Joey Graziadei Decided to Postpone Their Wedding Date
While the couple progressed quickly in their relationship on screen, Joey and Kelsey are aiming for an extended engagement period.
“Our consistent approach has been to truly savor the engagement,” Joey explained in an April segment of Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd’s Cozy in the Closet series. “We didn’t want to rush anything, because as everyone knows, The Bachelor operates on a very accelerated timeline, and we intend to have a two-to-three-year engagement to ensure we fully experience everything and learn as much as possible about each other before taking that next significant step.”
Despite their unhurried approach, Joey confirmed that he and Kelsey have consulted with a wedding planner to conceptualize their special occasion.
“That’s the next major milestone we’re concentrating on,” he stated. “We’re beginning to pinpoint when we want to, you know, decide on a date, where we actually want to host our wedding, and we both agreed that we wanted to enjoy married life for a bit before having children. Life changes, things always evolve, but we do want to have kids, we want to start a family.”
Regarding the aesthetic of their wedding day, Kelsey expressed her desire for the ceremony and reception to truly embody both her and Joey’s personalities.
“I definitely envision our wedding having a timeless appeal. I want it to be something that, in 30 or 40 years, could still look contemporary,” she commented during a May interview with SI Swimsuit, adding, “I know frequently the men let the women take charge, but I’m not sure that will be the case with [Joey].”
