Bachelor stars Zach and Kaity reveal their family timeline.
The Bachelor stars Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar expressed their anticipation for starting a family in the near future.
“The thought of starting our family fills us with excitement,” Biggar, 30, told Us Weekly exclusively during her appearance at iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball event on Friday, December 5. “Currently, our main focus is on our new residence. We are in the process of building a house that should be finalized by June or July, and following that, we plan to begin trying for a child.”
Shallcross, 29, corroborated, stating, “We are transparent about our plans. We are eager. It will happen next year.”
The pair initially connected during the production of season 27 of The Bachelor in 2022. Shallcross proposed to Biggar in the March 2023 finale episode, followed by their private wedding ceremony in May 2025.
Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar's Relationship Journey
Rather than having an extravagant or televised event, the couple chose a private ceremony at a chapel in Texas, attended by fewer than 10 immediate family members.
“I wore a wedding gown, and honestly, the day exceeded expectations,” Biggar reminisced about the intimate occasion. “I couldn't have imagined a more perfect scenario for how wonderful it turned out and what I had pictured. The focus was truly on our love, personal connection, and family bonds, which made it truly beautiful.”
While Biggar and Shallcross settle into their married life in Austin, Texas, both expressed certainty that their partner possesses qualities that would make them excellent parents.
“Regarding Kaity, I believe she will excel as a mother due to her deep compassion and attentiveness toward those close to her,” Shallcross praised to Us from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. “She consistently considers other people's needs first. She prioritizes others over herself, and I know she will apply that same care to our future children.”
Biggar lauded her husband's “generous nature” and praised him for his constant “kindness and selflessness.”
“I could list endless qualities that point to you being an exceptional father,” she continued. “He is simply kind. He demonstrates patience. He shows understanding. He is truly remarkable.”
The pair recently traveled to Los Angeles, shortly after hosting a celebratory wedding reception for extended family and friends.
Among the attendees celebrating the couple at Tiger Lilly in Austin were numerous Bachelor Nation alums, including Joey Graziadei, Kelsey Anderson, Charity Lawson, Dotun Olubeko, Susie Evans, and Kathy Swarts.
Biggar described the event as one of the “most significant weekends of our lives” in an Instagram post.
“I believe some of our regular family and friends reacted somewhat strangely to meeting the Bachelor cast members,” Biggar lightheartedly commented to Us. “A few individuals felt a bit apprehensive.”

Shallcross noted, “By the conclusion, everyone had connected. Guests were acting like enthusiastic fans.”
Despite having grown up in Orange County, California, ABC’s former Bachelor is now looking forward to creating new memories with his wife in Texas. With a honeymoon scheduled, they believe the most exciting times are still ahead.
“I still identify as an Orange County resident deep down, but when we first met during the show, we were both already living in Austin,” he told Us. “I had established a strong community before The Bachelor, and now we've expanded that circle with many close friends, giving us a wonderful life here.”
