Bachelor's Juliana Opens Up About Split From Grant and Reveals She's Dating Someone New
Juliana Pasquarosa is providing further details about her separation from The Bachelor season 29 lead Grant Ellis.
“We weren’t aligned in our views once the finale had aired,” Juliana, 28, stated on the Monday, December 22, episode of iHeartRadio’s “Almost Famous” podcast. “That was just one aspect of what was happening.”
In the season finale, Grant, 31, proposed to Juliana after canceling his relationship with runner-up Litia Garr. 32, Grant subsequently faced criticism in the After the Final Rose special when Litia claimed he told her he should “end the show” early because she was his top choice. Grant later exclusively told Us Weekly that there was “a significant amount” that Litia said that he “didn’t agree with.”
“I need to be understanding of him, because it is incredibly difficult when it feels like the world is criticizing you. That’s how I felt after the finale aired, and I was hoping for his support in the way I supported him, and it didn’t happen,” Juliana said on Monday. “It was about how things appeared and what people would think, and if we were to break up, they would think this, and if we stayed together, they would think that. And I’m like, ‘I don’t care.’”

Bachelor's Juliana Finally Shares What Went Wrong With Grant Engagement
Juliana Pasquarosa Questioned Grant Ellis About Whether He Would Have Chosen Litia Garr If She Were Mormon
After watching Grant’s initial one-on-one date with Litia, Juliana claimed that she was “upset” and called him to discuss it.
“I literally asked, ‘Would you have picked her if she wasn’t Mormon?’ Because I was aware that that was something he was grappling with toward the end. And I said, ‘Seriously, would you? Because I can see it and I sense it and I’m feeling anxious about it.’ And he responded, ‘No, that wasn’t the primary factor.’ And I was like, ‘Okay.’ So, I let it go.”
Juliana Pasquarosa’s Family Encouraged Her to ‘See It Through’ With Grant Ellis While Season Aired
Juliana recalled having conversations with her family about Grant while the season was being broadcast. “I believe they were simply advising me to ‘get through it,’ afterwards, when this is all over — like, then perhaps you can have a different perspective on him, and you guys can really get to know each other,’ and so on,” she said.
Her brother, however, urged her to “trust your instincts.” Following the breakup, Juliana recalled “crying throughout the entire day every day for, roughly, two weeks.”
Juliana Pasquarosa and Grant Ellis Had Been Separated for ‘Several Weeks’ Before Announcing Split
Juliana revealed that she and Grant had been apart for “several weeks” before they announced their separation via Instagram in June. After the pair parted ways, she explained that they went on a trip to Aruba with her friends and family.
“The trip was already arranged and he ultimately left early,” Juliana said. “I mean, I think it was like he simply couldn’t continue, and it makes sense and it was fair. But I think you have to understand, prior to us breaking up — because I initiated the breakup with him — I believe we were gradually drifting apart. However, he still communicated with my parents. He still spoke with my brother-in-law.”
Juliana Pasquarosa Details Grant Ellis’ Post-Show Priorities
Juliana claimed that Grant is “somewhat distant” and said he lacked a “clear sense of direction,” claiming he had ambitions to explore music and discussed starting a dating application.
“I was struggling to understand it and feel included in his life’s plan to achieve this goal of doing everything and being in a relationship. But I was like, ‘Hello, you have to pay attention to me if you want me to be a part of this. You have to include me,’” she said.
Juliana also alleged that Grant was concerned about the “appearance” of their relationship — echoing the same sentiment she shared on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast earlier this month, where she claimed that Grant “strategized” ways for them to announce their split days after the finale.
“I literally turned over and he was in bed and he’s like, ‘Hey, good morning. Have you made a decision? Because I’ve developed some options,’” she recalled on Monday of the morning after the pair had an argument. “I was like, ‘Are you serious right now?’ I was like, ‘Don’t talk to me. I’m going home.’”
Juliana Pasquarosa Reveals She’s Dating Someone After Grant Ellis Split
While concentrating on her “recovery,” Juliana shared that she’s seeing someone who is visiting her for New Year’s.
“It’s new, but it’s enjoyable and it’s playful and I appreciate that. I think that coming out of that, it was so challenging that I think I’ve been taking things extremely, extremely slowly again, and it has put me back a bit into my old ‘I dislike men’ mindset, and I’m not a man-hater. I’m not a woman-hater,” she said. “So, I think now I was like, ‘Let me just give this guy a chance.’ He’s been contacting me nonstop for, like, three straight months, and I’ve been ignoring him, and I was like, ‘You know what? Forget it. You’re attractive.’ So, we’re going to hang out.”
