Beckham Dynasty Gathers as David Receives Knighthood from King Charles III
Victoria Beckham was present with her husband, David Beckham, as the ex-footballer received his official knighthood from King Charles III.
On Tuesday, November 4, the pair appeared to be glowing as they arrived at Windsor Castle for the event. The former sportsman’s parents, Sandra and David, also attended the recognition. (The family displayed solidarity amidst the continuous issues affecting the wider Beckham family.)
Three of David and Victoria’s four offspring — their sons Romeo and Cruz, and daughter Harper — were also present at the function. The couple’s eldest son, Brooklyn, seemed absent, amidst the family’s persistent disagreement.
“You are truly deserving of this honor, I love you immensely. Congratulations, Sir dad,” 23-year-old Romeo posted on Instagram on Tuesday.
David Beckham Extends Birthday Greetings to Prince William Following His Knighthood
On Tuesday, 50-year-old David was granted knighthood in recognition of his contributions to sports and philanthropic causes.
“I could not feel more proud. Everyone is aware of my patriotism — I have a deep affection for my nation,” David commented to the BBC regarding his new distinction. “I have consistently emphasized the significance of the monarchy to my household. I am fortunate to have journeyed globally, and what everyone desires to discuss with me is our royal family. It instills a sense of pride in me.”
The ex-footballer joked that 76-year-old Charles seemed “rather impressed” with his attire for the event. David mentioned that Victoria created the ensemble, drawing inspiration from some of Charles’ previous fashion choices.
“He is the most tastefully dressed individual I am acquainted with, so he influenced several of my outfits throughout the years, and he certainly influenced this particular style,” David further stated. “It was an item my spouse crafted for me.”
Victoria, for her part, chose a navy blue gown accompanied by a coordinating fascinator.
The official announcement that David would be granted knighthood occurred in June. This recognition has been anticipated for a considerable period by the British icon.
Last May, an insider revealed exclusively to Us Weekly that David “strongly desired the knighthood” due to his deep commitment to England.
“[David] holds a great affection for the royal family and even waited in line individually to pay his respects to the Queen upon her passing,” the source further stated then. “He maintains traditional values and shows deference.”
What Was the Reaction of David Beckham's Sons to His Knighthood Amidst Family Discord?
Upon the announcement that David was finally nominated for the knighthood, he expressed immense delight regarding the distinction.
“Having been raised in East London by parents and grandparents who were deeply patriotic and proud of their British heritage, I never would have conceived of receiving such a genuinely modest accolade,” Beckham stated in a June declaration. “To have both played for and led my nation was the ultimate privilege of my professional life and genuinely a childhood aspiration realized.”
Beckham commenced his professional football career with Manchester United in 1992.
“Away from the field, I have been privileged to have the chance to represent Britain globally and collaborate with remarkable organizations that aid disadvantaged communities and motivate future generations,” the statement proceeded. “I am incredibly fortunate to perform the work I do, and I am thankful to be acknowledged for efforts that bring me such profound satisfaction.”
David finished by saying, “It will require some time for this news to fully register, but I am extraordinarily proud, and this is a deeply moving occasion for me to experience with my loved ones.”
