Bella Hadid Shares Hospital Photos Amidst Ongoing Lyme Disease Battle
Bella Hadid is sharing news regarding her well-being with her followers.
The 28-year-old model posted a collection of intimate pictures on Instagram this past Wednesday, September 17, depicting herself in a hospital setting with intravenous lines.
“My apologies for frequently disappearing; I love you all,” Bella wrote alongside her update.
Bella, diagnosed with Lyme disease at 16 in 2012, refrained from detailing the cause of her current hospital stay. However, her mother, Yolanda Hadid, commented, calling her a “Lyme warrior.”

While keeping her exact whereabouts private, Bella’s recent Instagram submission on Wednesday also showcased picturesque rural scenery, a double rainbow arching across the sky, and a pizza she enjoyed from her hospital bed.
This marks another instance where Bella has offered a glimpse into her health journey. Last year, in 2023, she posted an Instagram photo showing herself undergoing intravenous therapy.
“Life unfolds in both agonizing and exquisite fashions, but I must convey that if you are enduring hardship — improvement is coming, I assure you,” she penned then, extending solace to fellow Lyme disease sufferers. “Distance yourself, remain resilient, trust your journey, live authentically, and the difficulties will begin to dissipate.”
Gigi Hadid’s Perspective on Sister Bella’s Modeling HiatusShe continued, “Nearly 15 years of unseen anguish proved worthwhile if, God granting, I can now spend my life radiating love from a place of abundance and finally be my authentic self. … I will return when I feel prepared. I miss everyone deeply. My love for all of you is immense.”
Bella was absent from New York Fashion Week in September. She has previously mentioned that her condition causes significant exhaustion.
“Typically, I’m roused by a form of bone discomfort, then I must drift back to sleep. I’ll return to slumber, then sleep until noon, yet even after 14 hours of rest, I’m still drained,” Bella revealed exclusively to Us Weekly in 2016.
Back then, Bella confessed that she experienced tremors while gracing red carpets, elaborating, “Frequently, I’ll phone my mother and say, ‘I truly don’t wish to work today. Please don’t compel me to.’ And she’ll respond, ‘You know, you’re obligated today. You’ve already made a commitment.’ I do attend, but I’ll take a nap during my lunch break.”
Celebrities Battling Lyme DiseaseTwo years prior, upon finishing a 100-day course of treatment, Bella shared her thoughts on her ordeal in a poignant social media message.
“My younger self, who endured so much, would be immensely proud of the adult I’ve become for persevering,” she commented. “I am grateful to my mother for maintaining all my health documentation, staying with me, consistently offering her presence, safeguarding, backing me, and, above all, trusting me throughout this entire journey.”
