Bennifer's Style Evolution From Whirlwind Romance to Divorce

The moniker “Bennifer” may evoke memories of iridescent lip colors and whimsical hair accessories, yet fashion and trends are cyclical. Almost two decades after their initial whirlwind courtship captivated global attention, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez rekindled their relationship.

Their initial encounter occurred in 2002 during the filming of the notoriously unsuccessful movie, Gigli. This film was a commercial failure and received poor reviews from critics, many of whom noted a lack of on-screen connection between Affleck and Lopez.

Their off-screen dynamic, however, told a very different tale. Lopez initiated divorce proceedings from her second spouse, Cris Judd, in June 2002, subsequently making her relationship with the Good Will Hunting actor public. By November, the artist known for “Waiting for Tonight” was sporting a stunning 6-carat pink diamond engagement ring.

While their nuptials were planned for September 2003, the event was called off merely days prior, citing “excessive media attention,” leading to their definitive separation in January 2004.

In August 2024, Us Weekly verified that Lopez had initiated divorce proceedings from Affleck following their two-year marital union. The dissolution of their marriage was officially completed in January 2025.
