Bindi Irwin's Enduring Legacy From Child Star to Wildlife Warrior and Mom

Bindi Irwin is truly thriving. The dedicated conservationist has captivated audiences globally since her initial television appearance at age 2, alongside her beloved late father, Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” Irwin.

Bindi later launched her own program, Bindi the Jungle Girl, in 2007, around the same period she embarked on a singing career. The series also featured Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin, and younger brother, Robert Irwin.

Following Steve’s tragic passing in 2006, his daughter dedicated herself to continuing his mission more intently than ever, appearing on talk shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show With David Letterman and Larry King Live to safeguard Steve’s legacy and conservation efforts.

“My dad will always be my superhero,” Bindi shared exclusively with Us Weekly in 2018. “He was simply the most incredible person, and everyone recognized him as the ultimate wildlife warrior, but to me, he was the finest dad.”

Bindi continued to achieve notable success in the television industry throughout the years, perhaps most famously on Dancing With the Stars in 2015. She competed in season 21 with professional partner Derek Hough and ultimately secured the coveted mirrorball trophy.

In her private life, Bindi tied the knot with her long-term partner, Chandler Powell in March 2020. She subsequently became a mother in March 2021, welcoming a daughter named Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.
