Blake Lively's Night Out Hair Features a Secret Gossip Girl Callback
A sweet nod from Blake! Blake Lively shared a glimpse of her “night out hair” in an intimate picture alongside her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, which cleverly incorporated a hidden allusion to Gossip Girl.
The 38-year-old Lively gave her followers an exclusive look at her evening out with the 49-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star, just before the pair marked Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 27.
“Putting my night out hair to good use,” Lively captioned an Instagram Story post featuring a smiling picture of herself and Reynolds.
Within the image, a subtle Gossip Girl Easter egg was present, with Lively drawing attention to it for her admirers by typing: “I spy the Empire Hotel iukuk.”
Historically, The Empire Hotel served as a regular backdrop for the Gossip Girl cast's filming — indeed, its frequent appearance often led fans to congregate outside the establishment to observe production.
Earlier that day, Lively had posted a guide demonstrating how to achieve “8 min deep wave curls” utilizing her Blake Brown Beauty line. In the Instagram clip, Lively guided her audience through the transformation from just-washed hair to an ensemble perfect for a date night.

Admirers of Lively and Reynolds had previously received a celebratory self-portrait from the duo before Halloween, featuring them beside an eerie balloon sculpture of a spider affixed to a lamppost in New York City.
“This masterpiece is by the amazing @bigheadballoons,” Reynolds playfully remarked in October. “My apologies to anyone who hurried to look into the frantic shouts. I wasn't even sure if I was the one making the noise initially.”
He continued with a jest, “Furthermore, a kind reminder of the joy you experienced upon learning that Ghost Spiders are not a genuine issue everyone must contend with. The EMTs mentioned the ozone layer is recovering. She also said no one discusses that.”
The couple exchanged vows in 2012 and are parents to four children: James, aged 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 1.

Last October, Reynolds made light of welcoming his son Olin during a guest spot on Late Night With Seth Meyers, confessing his comfort in having three daughters prior to the arrival of his youngest child.
“Had I initially had three boys, I would absolutely never — it's impossible,” Reynolds confessed. “I would perform a self-administered vasectomy. Seriously, I wouldn't let that occur.”
