Kendra finished by writing, “You succeeded, Brielle; you handled everything with dignity and poise! I can only visualize the wonderful gathering, and I feel envious; however, I know you proceeded directly to Jesus.”
“We appreciate you,” she added, “for inspiring countless others.”

Brie received a neuroblastoma cancer diagnosis in 2020 and entered hospice care earlier in the current year. In September, Kendra mentioned being moved by how Today's Sheinelle Jones discussed “discovering beauty amid sorrow” following the death of her husband, Uche Ojeh, who also succumbed to cancer in May of the previous year.
“She notes that ‘despite progressing, and taking full advantage of life, she is striving to reclaim her happiness,’” Kendra wrote on Instagram regarding Jones, 47. “People frequently ask me, ‘How are you holding up?’ This inquiry has become something I struggle to answer honestly, and I feel like I'm being untruthful if I respond with simple phrases. I know others are aware of our situation, and reflecting on what they know versus my true emotional state, I can no longer bring myself to say, ‘I'm doing okay.’ I am devastated and in pain. From now on, I will respond with, ‘I am fighting to keep my joy.’”
Kendra posted a family picture to Instagram in October, musing, “Our home contains countless precious memories, and this particular one resonated deeply with me. As I sat beside Brielle one morning, she rolled over and mentioned, ‘Someone from heaven is communicating with me, an older individual; I'm unsure if it's a grandmother or grandfather; they spoke my name.’ Naturally, I maintained a composed demeanor and inquired what other messages the angels shared with her. She found it difficult to keep her eyes open for long, but promised to tell me more about their messages.”
