Bunnie Xo Defends Jelly Roll's Inner Beauty Amidst Weight Loss Compliments
Influencer Bunnie Xo responded to comments from her audience who suggested her husband, musician Jelly Roll, had become “exceptionally attractive” following his substantial weight loss of over 200 pounds.
“[Folks remark], ‘Wow, your husband is incredibly good-looking now that he’s shed all that weight,’” the 45-year-old social media personality stated in a TikTok post on Saturday, September 27. “Is that so? He has consistently possessed the identical facial features, the same compassionate heart, and the unwavering soul.”
She continued, emphasizing, “I believe the more suitable observation to make here is that his appearance suggests significant improvement in health since his weight reduction.”
Bunnie Xo, whose birth name is Alyssa DeFord, urged her audience to “cease existing in a world akin to Shallow Hal,” making a clear allusion to the 2001 film featuring Jack Black as a misogynistic character who, by enchantment, could only perceive the intrinsic beauty of women.

“Consider this: you could potentially forfeit the most profound romantic connection of your existence by evaluating an individual based on their physical size,” she concluded.
In a TikTok video posted in August, Bunnie Xo demonstrated her support for her spouse by humorously pushing the musician (identified as Jason Bradley DeFord) against a wall, playfully assessing his reduced mass.
“When it's necessary to confirm he remains your cuddly partner despite all the lost weight,” Bunnie captioned the footage, accompanying it with the affectionate text, “My favorite person #jellyandbunnie.”
Jelly Roll, aged 40, spoke about his journey of shedding pounds in April, disclosing that he had “commenced at a weight of 540 pounds” and had reached “357 pounds as of that particular morning.”
“My intention is to shed an additional 100 pounds,” he informed host Pat McAfee during the live broadcast of the Big Night AHT program.
He had previously informed People magazine in April 2024 that his exercise routine comprised walking “three miles daily, between four and six days per week,” along with “20 to 30 minutes spent in a sauna” and “6 minutes immersed in a cold plunge.”
“Considering how great I feel having lost this much weight, I can only envision the sensation once I embark on my tour,” he remarked then.
Concurrently, Bunnie Xo shared details on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast in August, explaining her recent scarcity of public outings alongside her spouse.
“Someone recently commented, ‘They were perpetually together, and now they are never seen in each other’s company,’” the podcast presenter relayed to her audience. “My response is, ‘Are you not aware that for the last half-year, I have been actively endeavoring to conceive a child?’”

She emphasized that Jelly Roll is compelled to “exert considerable effort to provide for their family” — a responsibility that frequently entails extensive global tours and recording sessions — while she benefits from the “convenience of working remotely.”
“He does not possess that same advantage,” she further explained. “He must attend public events, whereas I have genuinely been on intensive IVF medication for six months, experiencing profound emotional distress and navigating through a multitude of overwhelming difficulties … This is precisely why I have been out of public view; I am preparing for a significant re-emergence. I need to refresh their memories. I might even undertake a daring photoshoot to deliberately annoy all the persistent [critics].”
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo entered into matrimony in 2016. The artist, who has received a Grammy Award nomination, is also a parent to two children from prior relationships.
The musician behind “Save Me” experienced an exceptionally busy month, including a performance with fellow touring artist Post Malone at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, broadcast remotely from Hanover, Germany, on September 7, followed by an audience with Pope Leo XIV before a concert in Vatican City on September 13.
