Camila Mendes and Rudy Mancuso Engaged After Three Years of Dating
Camila Mendes and her partner of three years, Rudy Mancuso, have announced their engagement.
Mancuso, aged 33, popped the question to Mendes, 31, on Friday, October 24, a spokesperson for the actress confirmed to Us Weekly on Saturday, October 25. (The initial report came from People.)
The Riverdale star was surprised by Mancuso's proposal, which they then celebrated alongside their close friends and family. Footage of the delighted couple after the impromptu proposal has also surfaced online.
“Congratulations on the engagement, brother,” comedian Chelly posted on his Instagram Stories on Friday, sharing a clip of the two actors holding hands.

Mancuso was dressed in a white button-down shirt paired with black trousers for the event, while Mendes looked stunning in a black coatdress.
Mendes and Mancuso began their relationship in 2022 after they first met on the set of Mancuso’s directorial debut film, Música.
“She possesses immense talent. She’s intelligent, she’s humorous, she’s quick-witted, she’s beautiful. I had seen her previous works [including] Coyote Lake, Palm Springs and naturally Riverdale. My goal was to showcase a different aspect of her abilities,” Mancuso exclusively shared with Us in April 2024 regarding casting Mendes as his on-screen romantic lead. “Upon meeting her, I realized she had [that distinct side] within her, which involved embracing her Brazilian American heritage and background.”
He continued, “The moment I met her — for this particular project — she literally fulfilled every requirement. [Her character] Isabella is Brazilian American and embodies a grounded free spirit who navigates challenges with grace and is deeply devoted to family. All of these qualities Camila genuinely exhibits in real life.”
Mancuso revealed that he inadvertently conceptualized the character of Isabella with Mendes in mind.
“She was able to infuse so much more of her personality into the character than I had even anticipated. During the writing process, [Camila] was strongly on my mind, regardless of whether I knew we would secure her for the role,” he told Us. “Camila and I adapted these two characters to reflect our authentic selves far beyond what the script initially suggested. And she did an excellent job of preserving the integrity and narrative arcs of all the characters — not just her own and mine.”
In the years following their collaboration on Música, Mendes and Mancuso’s romantic bond has steadily grown stronger.

“Three years since I posed the question ‘What are we,’” Mendes posted on Instagram in July.
Mancuso replied in the comments, “Love you so muito.”
Mendes previously dated Ian Wallace from 2013 to 2017 and her Riverdale co-star Charles Melton from 2018 to 2021, although she typically preferred to keep her personal relationships private.
“In my everyday life, I am an open book. However, I’ve also developed a keen intuition. I understand how my spoken words can be reinterpreted into written text and how things can appear out of context,” Mendes explained to L.A. Confidential in March 2019. “It’s like, even though I feel comfortable discussing certain topics, do I truly want to see it repeatedly published? Sometimes, it’s simply not worth the hassle.”
Mancuso, for his part, was in a six-year relationship with actress Maia Mitchell before their separation in 2022.
