A recent encounter involving Queen Camilla and Princess Kate Middleton drew attention when the British royal family hosted President Donald Trump and Melania Trump during their U.K. visit.

Footage captured on Wednesday, September 17, at Windsor Castle showed an apparently uncomfortable moment between the 77-year-old Camilla and 43-year-old Kate as they welcomed the 55-year-old Melania.

Social media videos depicted the Princess of Wales approaching Melania, who was already conversing with Camilla. Kate and Melania exchanged pleasantries and smiles, after which Camilla seemingly gestured for her daughter-in-law to move aside.

“Camilla appeared to shift her handbag to her other arm. Is that not a signal to proceed?” one individual questioned on X.

Conversely, other users contended that Camilla was guiding Kate away because the horse-drawn carriages were imminent and would halt near her position. “This is not about being dismissed,” a different viewer remarked on X.

Further into the footage, the carriages indeed become visible, passing close to the assembled royal family and their visitors. The British royals and the Trumps are then shown aligning themselves for the horses' approach.
