Candace Cameron Bure Announces Social Media Break for a Holiday Reset

Candace Cameron Bure is planning to disconnect from the online world during the upcoming holidays.

“Friends, I’m planning a break from social media, though it might be in a few days,” Cameron Bure, 49, shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, December 21. “I am incredibly thrilled to be back home.”

Cameron Bure has been working on the third film in her Great American Media series Home Sweet Christmas while filming overseas alongside Cameron Mathison.

“I’ve never had the opportunity to film in Europe before, which is very exciting,” Cameron Bure told Us Weekly exclusively last month. Sophie and Sam will enjoy a European Christmas getaway to commemorate their first wedding anniversary. They’ll wander through charming Christmas markets, visit castles and experience the magic of Christmas as only Europe can provide.”

Cameron Bure and Mathison, 56, initially portrayed Sophie and Sam, childhood acquaintances who reconnect when they both inherit a farm in 2024’s Home Sweet Christmas. They revisited these characters in this year’s Another Sweet Christmas, with A Sweet Christmas Anniversary scheduled for release in 2026.

Cameron Bure deeply enjoys the holiday season, having created numerous Christmas-themed movies for both Hallmark and Great American Family.

“It’s the time of year I anticipate the most. I aim to keep it as calm and uncomplicated as possible, truly focusing on spending Christmas with my loved ones and friends,” she revealed to Us in a cover story published earlier this month. “As I get older, I simply desire more profound and significant experiences. Val [Bure, my husband] consistently prepares a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner, and then we attend church.”

Cameron Bure believes her strong Christian faith is central to her holiday traditions.

“The birth of Jesus … is the core of it all, which is why we read scripture on Christmas morning to remember what we are truly celebrating,” she explained. “Jesus gave us the gift of salvation. These are truly beautiful concepts.”

Throughout her career in the public eye, Cameron Bure has openly discussed her religious convictions.

“The Bible instructs us to go into the world and share the good news, to spread the gospel,” she told Us. “To ignore that in any aspect of my life would be to deny the very thing I am so grateful for, which is Jesus. I cannot separate these two things, and therefore I live confidently in that belief. During this process, you sometimes face criticism and disapproval, but this is my life. I am able to make my own decisions.”

Cameron Bure’s former Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin recently shared her perspective on how the actress’ beliefs differ from her own.

“Candace’s faith has always been very important to her, and I have no issue with that,” Sweetin, 43, stated on the Tuesday, December 16, episode of “The Moment” podcast. “I have no problem with religion if it provides you with peace and happiness, and I’m not necessarily suggesting that her particular faith doesn’t offer that. I simply don’t know.”
