Captain Jason Chambers to Spill All on Heather Gay Romance Rumors at BravoCon 2025
Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers is cognizant of the speculation regarding a romantic encounter with Heather Gay and intends to address the matter directly at BravoCon 2025.
“We had a break for a year on BravoCon — didn’t think we’re going to go back there,” Captain Jason exclusively told Us Weekly while walking this year’s BravoCon red carpet in Las Vegas on Friday, November 14.
“We returned directly to this event,” he continued. “She's aware of my tendency to feel self-conscious, and she also knows I have a sarcastic streak. I understand her sense of humor and quick wit, and I believe she recognized an opportunity and seized it. I admire that about her, as she understands she's simply, well, making me feel a bit peculiar, almost agitated.”
He further stated, “It's been enjoyable. I appreciate it. It's solely a platonic relationship, and it's genuinely amusing.”

For those unfamiliar with the background, the prominent figure from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City arranged a yacht excursion to the island of Canouan for the show's cast during a crossover episode on October 28. In a conversation under the influence with fellow cast member Britani Bateman, Heather asserted that she had previously been intimate with the Australian captain.
“You're getting cozy with Jason. He doesn't show interest in me,” Britani, who had displayed an attraction to the captain earlier in the broadcast, expressed to Heather.
“I'm aware, but Jason and I are pals,” Heather replied. “We share a past. We've had some casual encounters previously. It's as if, there's no serious connection.”
Upon being prompted to elaborate on her phrase “fed around,” Heather merely explained that the two maintain a friendship.
“We are friends,” she stated. “My point is that we're friends, which allows for certain liberties.”
Once she had regained sobriety, Heather appeared taken aback by her own admission.
“Did I actually say that?” Heather questioned producers in a much clearer-headed confessional. “With a straight face? You absolutely cannot broadcast that. I'm unsure why I uttered that to her. Erase it. Erase it.”
Regardless of the romantic speculation, Captain Jason informed Us that he is entirely open to accommodating another Real Housewives series for a subsequent yachting adventure.
“I believe the Dubai cast, specifically the Housewives of Dubai, would be excellent, you understand?” he shared with Us on Friday concerning a potential future crossover. “I imagine their standards and scrutiny would be exceptionally high. I think they would demand the utmost in service. And we welcome criticism. We strive for improvement.”
Captain Jason also conveyed to Us that he would unequivocally welcome the women from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City back onto the vessel, complete with any inebriated antics.

“That's the finest aspect of yachting — you collaborate with a team. You forge friendships. I've collaborated with all the Housewives of Salt Lake City, and we maintain strong friendships,” he clarified. “And BravoCon offers an excellent opportunity for us to reunite. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself, even from the first day, reconnecting with all of them.”
Although Captain Jason is quite open to collaborating with The Real Housewives once more, he is also eagerly anticipating the upcoming season of Below Deck Down Under, even though certain crew members previously made themselves the focal point of the show's storyline.
“The leaders of the departments unfortunately became the primary focus, which wasn't appropriate,” he informed Us regarding the previous season. “Therefore, this season, we were fortunate enough to assemble three other superb, seasoned department heads, and you will encounter absolutely no problems whatsoever. Their caliber is exceptional, and their expertise and professional conduct are impressive.”
He went on. “We've finalized its production. It promises to be an excellent season.”
