Carly Waddell Hilariously Fails at Approaching Man After Post Breakup Dating Woes
Carly Waddell is opening up about her romantic endeavors following the conclusion of her engagement to attorney Todd Allen Tressler.
“Alright, I need you all to quickly join me on a story about how I'm just utterly terrible at this dating scene we're meant to navigate, and how my recent attempt utterly failed,” the 40-year-old Waddell shared in an Instagram video posted on Saturday, November 29.
Waddell recounted that during an outing with her brother, sister-in-law, and a friend, they spotted an “attractive man” with whom she felt a potential spark.
“I sensed we were making eye contact. I'm not certain, he was quite a distance away,” Waddell recounted. “Regardless, I decided, 'Alright, I believe I'll hand him my contact information.'”
Upon finding a scrap of paper, Waddell jotted down her contact number — deliberately omitting her name to prevent him from “searching [her] online.”
“I'm unsure. That presents an entirely different problem,” Waddell commented on her choice to maintain a degree of anonymity. “Nonetheless, when I returned to the bar where he had been, he was gone. Only his friends, and perhaps his parents, remained at the table; I couldn't be certain. As I approached the table and realized his absence, instead of behaving normally, I simply bolted out of the establishment.”
Waddell, known for her appearance on the nineteenth season of The Bachelor, joked that the encounter evoked memories of her middle school days when she “was too anxious” to approach an “attractive boy at his locker.”
“A Dating Journey with Carly (watch the video and come back for the end),” Waddell titled her social media update. “Ultimately, my sister-in-law re-entered and passed on my number, but he never made contact. The silver lining is that I made an effort! Small progress.”
Carly Waddell of Bachelor Nation Ends Engagement to Todd Allen Tressler
Waddell's anecdote about her dating experiences follows by a month her confirmation that her engagement to Tressler had concluded.
“I consistently share openly with you all, and I will do so now. I am not wearing a ring,” Waddell stated in an Instagram video from October. “I indeed ended my engagement approximately a month prior. We have relocated to a new urban area.”
She went on, “This was not a choice I arrived at impulsively. The timing was particularly unfortunate, as the children had recently begun school, sports, and various other activities. You know what? That's simply how things unfolded.”
Waddell expressed that she now feels “quite content” with the outcome of her decision.
“My children are thoroughly enjoying our new environment,” she commented. “Frankly, navigating the dating world post-divorce and with children is exceptionally challenging. One must make demanding choices for oneself and for one's loved ones. And so, that is my current situation.”
Waddell had been married prior to Evan Bass, a fellow participant from Bachelor in Paradise season 3, from 2017 to 2020. The former couple are parents to daughter Bella, aged 7, and son Charlie, aged 6.
