Carole Radziwill and Andy Cohen's Friendship Rollercoaster: From Bravo Buddies to Public Feud and Back

Carole Radziwill and Andy Cohen's Friendship Rollercoaster: From Bravo Buddies to Public Feud and Back

The fluctuating connection between Andy Cohen and Carole Radziwill, a story of evolving camaraderie, might just be perfect for unscripted television.

Before he became a prominent figure at Bravo, the host of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen seemed to share an amicable bond with Radziwill, which continued into her initial seasons on The Real Housewives of New York City.

However, as more seasons aired and the disputes among her fellow cast members intensified, Radziwill noticed a shift in her dynamic with Cohen. This culminated during a 2018 reunion special when she asserted that her executive was favoring Bethenny Frankel over her.

“It became very apparent to me — and subsequently, I believe, to the viewers — that he was endorsing Bethenny in a manner I had never witnessed him do at any other reunion,” she stated on a July 2019 installment of SiriusXM’s The Jenny McCarthy Show. “The immediate action I took after the [season 10] reunion was to contact my accountant because I wanted to ascertain, ‘If I [departed], how long could I manage without a substantial income?’”

When Radziwill bid farewell to RHONY, she also seemingly concluded her association with Cohen. Continue reading to trace their intricate history:

Carole and Andy’s Connection Prior to ‘RHONY’

Long before Radziwill documented her personal life for Bravo’s cameras, the journalist appeared to have a rapport with Cohen. “I’ve been acquainted with her for an extensive period,” he once revealed to Us Weekly. “Since the late ’90s, I believe.” After Radziwill joined RHONY for its fifth season in 2012, Cohen mentioned he had to set boundaries with his friend to ensure fairness with other Bravo personalities. For instance, he had to remove her from his holiday gathering guest list.

Regarding her alleged friendship with Cohen, Radziwill seemed to hold a different perspective. “You understand that was a creation of Bravo,” she disclosed on a November 2021 episode of the “Behind the Velvet Rope With David Yontef” podcast. “I never went around asserting that Andy and I were close companions. I never uttered that. … We share mutual acquaintances, so I would encounter him, you know, in New York at dinners and such, but we were never, like, intimate.”

Carole and Andy’s ‘RHONY’ Reunion Disagreement

During the RHONY season 10 reunion broadcast, audiences remained glued to their screens as they observed Radziwill and Frankel dissect their conflict and evolving friendship. In an unexpected turn, fans also saw Cohen become entangled in the tension when Radziwill proclaimed he was “so full of s–t” after he stated she and Frankel “criticized each other” throughout the entire season.

“I found her behavior very Trumpian, and I was quite astonished by that because what program is she watching? All I was doing was highlighting, ‘Indeed, you both have been speaking ill of each other,’” Cohen remarked on Bravo’s Play by Play after the episodes aired. “I wasn’t implying anyone was talking more negatively or less. … Don’t deny that you never uttered anything disparaging about this individual, because you both were exchanging insults.”

In response to Cohen’s comments, Radziwill posted via X: “Lol. I uphold #FOS. Trumpian is what @Andy did. Manufactured a false equivalence. He claimed we both disparaged each other ‘all season.’ Review the clips. I was wearing the same attire, a black top. Because it was all the final episodes in interviews recorded 2 weeks before the reunion. #PlayByPlay.”

Carole Departs ‘RHONY’

After six seasons on the series, Radziwill declared her departure from RHONY. “I have opted to return to my primary pursuits — journalism and production,” she conveyed in a July 2018 statement to Us Weekly. “I have collaborated with remarkable producers, forged wonderful friendships, and I am delighted to leave adversaries behind. I will recall this entire experience with pleasure, humor, and precise accuracy. Next.”

In a separate Instagram Story update, however, the reality television personality seemingly offered additional rationale for her exit. “If you were involved in something that compelled you to act against your intrinsic moral compass, would you disengage irrespective of the compensation?” she inquired. “It’s a challenging decision.”

A Publication Rekindles the Dispute

When author Dave Quinn launched his book Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of the Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It in 2021, readers were eager to uncover more details about Radziwill and Cohen’s fractured friendship.

According to Cohen, he was not pleased with the manner in which Radziwill announced her departure from RHONY. “Carole’s social media post essentially implied she was exiting a highly detrimental situation. It genuinely bothered me because I truly felt I had significantly impacted her life,” he expressed. “She is not the individual I once knew.”

In response, Radziwill shared a message via X that articulated: “Merely another male instructing a woman that she ought to be more thankful. Housewives transformed Andy Cohen’s life, not mine. And Bravo constructed a $100 million franchise on the efforts of women. Let’s not misunderstand.”

Former ‘RHONY’ Personalities: What Are They Doing Now?

Who Is the Anonymous Contributor?

In June 2024, Cohen was featured in a New York magazine profile. Within the piece, one former RHONY cast member — who chose to remain unnamed — criticized the alterations made throughout her tenure. “The program shifted from lighthearted humor about middle-aged women becoming inebriated and being deluded about their status and engaging in amusing, trivial arguments, to Housewives investigating and conducting opposition research and fabricating false plotlines and leaking narratives about one another and attempting to get each other terminated,” the anonymous Bravo alumna alleged in the article.

Days after the article was released, Cohen shared his suspicions regarding the identity behind the comments. “I know precisely [who it is]. It’s Carole Radziwill, without a doubt,” he stated on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “There isn’t even a question that it’s Carole. But it was so peculiar. I thought, ‘Carole has uttered many unkind remarks about me that she has posted and been quoted on.’ So, I was thinking, ‘Why are you speaking off the record here?’”

Radziwill later addressed the speculation via X, writing: “Someone can offer a truthful observation & there’s always one somewhat short male waiting to take offense. At this point, why would any rational person use their name? They are all so vengeful, which I believe is the essence of the quotation & affirmed by Andy’s harsh reaction.”

Reconnecting Away From the Media

Despite years of separation, Cohen verified that he has engaged in positive discussions with Radziwill in private.

“Carole and I have recently re-established contact, actually,” Cohen informed People at Bravo Fan Fest on November 23, 2024. “It feels wonderful. Carole and I had known each other for years, before she ever joined the Housewives — for numerous years. I believe I’ve known her more outside of the Housewives than I have during her time on the show. So it was certainly gratifying to reconnect.”

Radziwill also confirmed to the publication that she was able to converse with her long-time acquaintance after nearly six years. “We both arrived at the understanding that our disagreements were entirely due to the intense demands of the show and very little to do with our friendship, which preceded it,” she stated. “Andy and I are very much in agreement now, and I am content about that.”

Carole and Andy’s Late-Night Reunion

During an August 2025 installment of WWHL, Cohen enlisted Radziwill to serve as an unexpected mystery guest for Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.

Radziwill’s presence marked her first appearance on the network since her departure from RHONY seven years prior. It also further substantiated that there is no lingering animosity between her and Cohen.

“This is truly incredible, by the way, to be here,” she admitted.

Cohen responded, “I know, it’s been a while! Radzi, it’s been a while!”

Securing a BravoCon Invitation

Radziwill exclusively informed Us Weekly in November 2025 that she attended BravoCon that year following an invitation from Cohen.

“It’s been genuinely pleasant. The Bravo fanbase is truly unique among fan communities,” she expressed. “It’s incredibly influential. It’s enjoyable to interact with fans. It’s great to witness. I mean, some of my former castmates, I haven’t seen in eight years.”

Radziwill also shared with Us how she and Cohen repaired their friendship this year.

“Andy and I have known each other for a very long time, well before the Housewives. After I left, there was some antagonism and some miscommunication. It’s a high-pressure profession,” she explained. “We did not communicate for an extended period. Publicly, we were engaging in a bit of a dispute.”

The former Bravo personality reached out to Cohen “privately” and she subsequently appeared on WWHL.
