Catalina's Plea: Girlfriend's Efforts to Help Marshawn Kneeland Before Tragic End
Dallas Cowboys luminary Marshawn Kneeland received steadfast support from his significant other, Catalina, prior to his untimely passing.
Catalina contacted law enforcement on Wednesday, November 5, in an earnest attempt to secure assistance for Kneeland before he tragically ended his life in the early hours of Thursday, November 6.
“We are communicating with his girlfriend,” a 911 dispatcher stated in audio files obtained by TMZ Sports on Thursday. “She is endeavoring to reach his agent. We are encouraging her to contact him directly first.”
Catalina informed authorities that Kneeland possessed “a documented history of mental health challenges.”

Kneeland and Catalina maintained a largely private relationship, yet she frequently engaged with his social media posts on Instagram.
“That’s my man,” Catalina penned on a June post featuring snapshots from Cowboys training camp.
Kneeland accompanied the gallery of photographs with the caption, “There is no dishonor in being weak. The dishonor lies in remaining weak.”
In May, Kneeland shared a collection of images dedicated to his late mother, Wendy, who passed away in February 2024.
Catalina commented, “You know she would be so proud of everything you’ve achieved thus far, baby.”
Kneeland posted another series of photographs in January, highlighting key moments from his inaugural NFL season.
“Mhmm, my man’s so fine,” Catalina remarked.
According to disclosures from the Frisco Police Department, Kneeland died by suicide subsequent to crashing his vehicle during a police pursuit.
Kneeland subsequently fled on foot, initiating an extensive search operation by authorities involving K9 units and drones. His remains were discovered at 1:31 a.m., with the definitive cause and manner of death awaiting determination by the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“I witnessed his determined ascent from an aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a fervent dream to a respected professional athlete for the Dallas Cowboys,” Perzley articulated. ”Marshawn invested his entire being into every play, every practice, and every moment on the field. To lose an individual possessing his talent, spirit, and inherent goodness is a sorrow I find nearly inexpressible.”
Perzley proceeded, “My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and all who held him dear, and I trust they will feel the collective support of the entire football community during this unfathomable period. I respectfully request that you grant his loved ones the privacy and empathy they require as they navigate this immense loss.”
