“As many of you are aware, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the individual found deceased last week,” the family stated in a message posted on a GoFundMe page titled “Help Lay Celeste Rivas Hernandez to Rest.” “She was a cherished daughter, sister, cousin, and companion. Her loved ones are heartbroken and devastated by this untimely loss.”

The crowdfunding campaign has garnered over $14,000 towards its $20,000 objective as of Friday afternoon, with contributions from more than 500 donors.

Law enforcement officials initially located Rivas’ body on September 8 after responding to a complaint about a “noxious smell emanating from a vehicle at a salvage yard” on Mansfield Avenue in Hollywood. The automobile was subsequently confirmed to be registered to D4vd, whose given name is David Anthony Burke.
