Chalamet's Award Speech Sparks Confusion Over "Foundation" Shout-Out to Jenner
Amanda Seyfried expressed some confusion when Timothée Chalamet gave a shout-out to Kylie Jenner for their “foundation” during his 2026 Critics Choice Awards acceptance speech.
“I wasn’t thinking of a charitable organization or foundation,” Seyfried, 40, wrote in the comments section of Evan Ross Katz’s Sunday, January 4, Instagram post that featured a moment from Chalamet’s acknowledgment of his girlfriend.
Chalamet, 30, recognized Jenner, 28, while accepting the award for Best Actor at the Sunday awards show for his performance in Marty Supreme.
“I want to thank my partner of three years,” he stated warmly. “Thank you for our support system. I love you. I couldn’t have achieved this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Jenner, who was also present at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California, was then observed mouthing, “I love you,” back to Chalamet.
Chalamet and Jenner began dating in the spring of 2023 following Jenner’s on-again, off-again relationship with Travis Scott. (Jenner shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 4, with the rapper, 34.)
“Timothée is a true gentleman and treats [Kylie] with respect. He’s very charming and makes her laugh, and he’s easy to converse with,” a source told Us Weekly in April 2023. “He’s unlike any of the other men she’s dated previously, and although he might not seem like her usual type, they have a strong connection.”
Although Jenner and Chalamet have maintained a relatively private romance, the couple has consistently shown their support for each other, with Jenner attending several of Chalamet’s premieres and awards season events over the past few years.
Following speculation that Kylie and Chalamet had ended their relationship due to his absence from Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday, another source confirmed to Us in November 2025 that the couple are “still very much together” and that their relationship is “quite serious.”

“Everyone is delighted by them as a couple, and he has even become involved in the children’s lives, which makes Kylie incredibly happy,” the insider explained. “Everything is progressing well, and Kylie appreciates that he is currently working very hard and experiencing a significant moment in his career.”
According to the second source, Kylie “doesn’t mind” that she and Chalamet “keep their relationship out of the public eye” and “don’t spend every moment together.”
“It makes their time spent together feel more meaningful,” the source shared with Us.
Chalamet has had a busy winter with the release of his 2025 film Marty Supreme, in which he takes on the lead role as Martin “Marty” Reisman. The A24 movie, which explores Marty’s ambition to become a champion table-tennis player, received three Golden Globe nominations and is considered a strong contender for multiple Oscar nominations.
Chalamet appeared in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme alongside a talented cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler, the Creator, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.

During a December 2025 interview, Chalamet admitted that he believes his role in Marty Supreme is “likely [his] finest work.”
“It’s been, like, seven, eight years that I feel like I’ve been delivering truly dedicated, top-quality performances,” he explained to Margaret Gardiner in an interview shared via social media. “And it’s important to state it aloud because the dedication and the work ethic I’m bringing to these projects – I don’t want people to underestimate it. I don’t want to underestimate it. This is genuinely exceptional work.”
