Channing Tatum Denies Living with Vanderpump Rules Star Jax Taylor
Channing Tatum is addressing persistent speculation that he shared living quarters with Jax Taylor in the era preceding their respective moves to Hollywood.
“Channing, now that you’re here, I must inquire about a long-standing puzzle I’ve been eager to solve for years,” Andy Cohen probed Tatum, aged 45, during the actor’s visit to SiriusXM’s Radio Andy on Monday, October 6. “Your name has surfaced repeatedly on a popular reality series known as Vanderpump Rules. So, were you at any point a housemate with a character named Jax from Vanderpump Rules?”
Tatum responded with a firm, “Definitely not.”
Cohen subsequently inquired of the Roof Man star whether he had ever cohabited with Taylor (whose birth name is Jason Cauchi) or his fellow former Vanderpump Rules cast member, Tom Sandoval.
Jax Taylor Reflects on His Most Significant Moments — What Scene Does He Regret?
“There's a person named Jason Cauchi on Vanderpump Rules — now known as Jax — who claimed that back when you were both nascent models, he was your flatmate,” the Bravo executive clarified. “Does this trigger any memories?”
Although Tatum did not recall the name, he suggested that viewing a picture of Taylor might help to refresh his recollection.
“Occasionally, agencies would place you in a model residence, furnished with little more than a bed,” Tatum remarked, prior to disclosing that he “was expelled” from his initial model accommodation after an “altercation with another resident.”
Cohen subsequently located an older photograph of Taylor and questioned Tatum if the individual “appeared recognizable.”
“Many models share a similar aesthetic, and he is certainly an attractive individual,” he commented. “If he had been represented by Jason Canner, it’s likely our paths would have crossed, but I don't believe we ever lived together.”
Taylor initially asserted that he and Tatum shared living quarters during a 2013 guest spot on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
“He served as my inaugural roommate in New York when I embarked on my modeling career,” Taylor stated concerning Tatum back then.
Ten years subsequent, Taylor provided further specifics regarding his purported period with Tatum and their mutual affiliation with the same modeling agency.
“This occurred approximately in 2002, and modeling agencies at the time provided accommodations for talent arriving in the city,” The Valley personality informed Rolling Stone in May 2023. “These were essentially dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds. A cramped space featuring bunk beds and a restroom. Channing was among the six men sharing our quarters.”
Taylor asserted that Tatum's stay was brief — the then-model departed not long after securing his initial significant commercial project.

“He achieved fame quite rapidly. He starred in a Mountain Dew advertisement where he dramatically overturned a vehicle,” he continued. “Upon securing that particular role, his career immediately escalated.”
Tatum's professional trajectory indeed soared subsequent to his involvement in the soft drink commercial. After his contribution to the advertisement, Tatum secured his breakthrough performance in She’s the Man, appearing opposite Amanda Bynes. Bynes had earlier revealed that she observed Tatum’s Mountain Dew spot and championed his casting for the part.
“I ardently championed Channing's inclusion in that film because he hadn't yet achieved widespread recognition,” the actress conveyed to Paper Magazine in November 2018. “He had recently completed a Mountain Dew commercial, and my immediate thought was, ‘This individual is destined for stardom — every woman will adore him!’ However, [the producers] expressed, ‘He is considerably older than the rest of the cast!’ To which I retorted, ‘That is inconsequential! Have faith in my judgment!'”
