As more details emerge regarding the tragic shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, Madeline Gaudreau is urging her audience to be mindful of Kirk's family when distributing content on the internet.

“As a mother experiencing profound sorrow…while dealing with the repercussions of what occurred to my spouse and brother-in-law, my paramount concern is to ensure that I work to keep private details from appearing online to safeguard my son – my nieces and nephews,” she posted on her Instagram Story on Thursday, September 11. “I implore you all, please refrain from resharing – viewing – or commenting on anything that could harm Charlie’s family and friends. Let us assist in their protection.”

Matthew Gaudreau, Madeline’s spouse, and his brother, professional ice hockey player Johnny Gaudreau, lost their lives in August 2024. An alleged intoxicated driver collided with them as they cycled in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. They were aged 31 and 29, in that order.

Four months subsequent to the tragedy, Madeline gave birth to their son, Tripp. Johnny and his spouse, Meredith, were parents to daughter Noa, born in 2022, and son Johnny Jr., born in 2024, at the moment of his passing. Eight months after the incident, she delivered their third child, son Carter.

“Each member of Turning Point USA is profoundly saddened and heartbroken by the malicious killing of our founder and inspirational figure, Charlie Kirk,” the organization announced on X on Thursday. “We have all lost a leader, a mentor, and a friend. Most importantly, our thoughts are with Erika and their two young ones. Charlie exemplified an exemplary husband and a flawless father. Beyond everything else, we request your prayers for the Kirks following the unimaginable bereavement they have endured.”
