Charlie Sheen Compares Charlie Kirk's Death to JFK Assassination

Charlie Sheen drew a parallel between the demise of the contentious conservative pundit Charlie Kirk and the 1963 murder of President John F. Kennedy.
“I believe, for this current era, this event serves as their equivalent of a JFK moment,” the 60-year-old Sheen remarked while guesting on Piers Morgan Uncensored this past Tuesday, September 16. “Should this be our current state, it's unsustainable. … The injustice and unreality of it make it incredibly difficult to comprehend. … We must prevent such days from recurring.”
The actor was a guest on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast when word emerged that Kirk had been fatally shot during a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10. Kirk was transported to a nearby medical facility but succumbed to his injuries at 31 years old.
A 22-year-old individual, identified as Tyler Robinson, faces charges including a capital offense, aggravated murder, and the felony use of a firearm, in addition to several lesser charges such as obstruction of justice, witness manipulation, and committing a violent act in front of a minor. Robinson made his initial court appearance remotely on Tuesday, declining to enter a plea and remaining detained without bond at the Utah County Jail for the time being. As reported by CBS News, a hearing regarding a waiver is scheduled for Monday, September 29.
Michael Keaton Reflects on the ‘Irony’ Surrounding Charlie Kirk’s Passing: ‘Incredible’
The ex-star of Two and a Half Men clarified to television personality Piers Morgan that he had been conversing about the JFK assassination with podcast host Joe Rogan just before the news broke, making the parallel between that monumental disaster and Kirk’s demise seem fitting.
“We were talking about the JFK assassination earlier in that very interview … The incident occurred, and having Rogan there during its immediate aftermath proved beneficial, if that explains it?” he elaborated.
When Morgan, 60, inquired about his initial thoughts on Kirk’s passing, Sheen asserted that his first consideration was the sorrow Kirk’s family must have experienced.
“My immediate concern was for his children now without a father, his wife instantaneously widowed,” the performer stated. “Initially, I disregarded any political, social, or cultural ramifications. My thoughts went straight to the family structure and its elements, and the profound loss that was irrevocably snatched from them all in an instant. Joe and I were simply endeavoring to maintain some level of … composure and awareness while processing this.”
Numerous celebrities from Hollywood have voiced their opinions following Kirk’s demise, with Jamie Lee Curtis visibly emotional as she talked about the incident on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast on Monday, September 15.
“I am convinced he was a devout individual, and I hope at the instant of his death, he experienced a bond with his spiritual beliefs,” the 66-year-old Academy Award recipient informed host Marc Maron. “Despite considering his viewpoints detestable, I still acknowledge him as a father, a husband, and a person of faith, and I wish that whatever ‘connection to God’ entails, he experienced it.”
This week, Mean Girls actress Amanda Seyfried drew backlash for labeling Kirk “full of hate” after posting an Instagram reel featuring some of his most provocative remarks concerning race and abortion.
“I have no desire to exacerbate the situation. My intention is simply to offer clarity on something so thoughtlessly (yet understandably) misinterpreted,” the 39-year-old Seyfried later clarified on Instagram on Wednesday, September 17. “Engaged discussion — shouldn’t that be our aim?”
Charlie Kirk's Podcast Resumes With Vacant Seat in His Stead Days Following Death
She continued, “We are overlooking the subtleties of human nature. I can feel outrage over misogyny and bigoted speech, and SIMULTANEOUSLY strongly concur that Charlie Kirk’s killing was utterly distressing in every conceivable aspect. No individual should be subjected to such extreme aggression. This nation is mourning an excessive number of pointless and violent fatalities and gun incidents. Can we at least concur on that point?”
Kirk’s group, Turning Point USA, announced that a public commemoration — titled “Building a Legacy, Remembering Charlie Kirk” — is scheduled for State Farm Stadium — the Arizona Cardinals’ venue — in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, September 21. Among those slated to speak at the tribute are President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Charlie’s bereaved wife, Erika Kirk (formerly Frantzve).
