Chrishell Stause Reignites Feud with Emma Hernan Over Partner's Alleged Offensive Remarks
The ongoing conflict involving Selling Sunset personalities — and erstwhile close companions — Chrishell Stause and Emma Hernan shows no signs of abating.
“The content I disseminated from Emma’s significant other: HE MADE ALL OF THIS ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC,” Stause, aged 44, conveyed via an Instagram Story on Thursday, November 6. “Additionally, there were numerous other instances beyond what I posted that incited discriminatory remarks against the LGBTQ+ community, and he openly asserted to both myself and Chelsea [Lazkani] his right to use a racial slur.”
Stause further noted that Hernan, 33, “opts” to be in a relationship with her partner Blake Davis.
“That responsibility falls to her. She doesn’t object to the derogatory comments. She only objected to me highlighting his social media presence where he engaged in such behavior,” Stause penned. “All of this was known to her for a year and a half before I ever spoke out. It’s disheartening to discover her ethical stance when her queer and Black friends were considered her ‘closest companions.’ I am weary of this storyline.”
Selling Sunset's Chrishell Indicates One Fellow Cast Member Bears the Most Accountability at the Reunion
She finished by stating, “Should I encounter racism or homophobia, I am not the person who will assist you in concealing it. Citing a Michelle Obama aphorism about opting for the moral path on a program where she defended his utterance of a racial slur and has remained silent regarding Chelsea’s treatment, while others endeavor to portray her as a danger, is truly astonishing.”
Stause seems to be alluding to fellow cast member Mary Bonnet’s persistent assertions (particularly those she shared solely with Us Weekly) that the show’s producers orchestrated her disagreement with Lazkani in season 9.
As of now, neither Hernan nor Lazkani has responded to Stause’s social media update.
Stause’s recent Instagram Story contributes an additional dimension to the off-screen developments. Stause’s disapproval of Hernan’s significant other was evident in the latest season of Selling Sunset, which debuted earlier this month. Nevertheless, tensions have escalated since the program aired.
Hernan ended her relationship with Davis during the series, yet they reconciled post-filming — an event that precipitated the deterioration of her friendship with Stause. Stause had earlier suggested that her estrangement from Hernan stemmed from Davis reportedly employing a racial slur and mocking gender pronouns.
Hernan exclusively elucidated Stause’s allegations during a conversation with Us Weekly earlier this week.
“He did not state that pronouns were foolish. He would never utter such a thing. He inadvertently referred to ‘wife’ [in reference to Chrishell’s partner, G Flip],” Hernan clarified. “Upon his use of ‘wife,’ I informed him and elucidated the matter, and it was his initial exposure to the concept, and he endeavored to be respectful.”
Selling Sunset's Chrishell and Emma's Friendship Timeline Before Falling Out
Hernan asserted that this incident did not occur in the recent past.
“This transpired two years prior, and I rectified him because I recognized the need for sensitivity,” she stated. “I am exceedingly sensitive regarding this topic, so I corrected him, and he responded, ‘My apologies. We are from the South, and it’s not customary there.’ That is precisely what transpired.”
Hernan expresses optimism that Davis might “engage in a discussion” with Stause at some point.
“It’s a matter of their individual temperaments where they simply won’t ever find common ground,” Hernan further remarked. “They occupy opposite extremes in that she disapproves of specific actions he takes, and he, in turn, disapproves of specific actions she takes. Regrettably, I am caught in between.”
Nonetheless, Stause seemingly dismissed that possibility by responding to Hernan’s interview.
“This is NOT what transpired,” she claimed in an online post on Tuesday, November 4, featuring an excerpt from Hernan’s discussion with Us. “However, well done, Emma, for fueling animosity toward my partner and their preferred pronoun usage.”
