Coldplay Concert Jumbotron Scandal: Ex-Astronomer CEO and Executive Cleared of Affair
The connection between former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and executive Kristin Cabot continues to be analyzed, two months after their appearance at a Coldplay concert made them a viral sensation.
A recent report indicates that the erstwhile colleagues were not engaged in an extramarital affair when they were observed in a close embrace on a Jumbotron screen.
“Kristin and Andy shared a superb professional dynamic and a strong friendship. There was no romantic entanglement,” an individual close to Cabot revealed to People in an article released on Tuesday, September 23. “While embracing your superior at a concert was improper, and she fully acknowledges that, the ensuing controversy, public disgrace, and job termination — all of it is disproportionate and unjust.”
On July 19, an Astronomer representative verified to Us Weekly that Byron had formally stepped down from his role as CEO, following an incident where he was seen embracing Cabot until the broadcast camera shifted focus.

Subsequently, he ducked down to conceal himself, while Cabot turned and covered her face.
“Astronomer upholds the principles and ethos that have directed us from our inception. Our leadership is anticipated to exemplify excellence in both behavior and responsibility, and recently, this expectation was not fulfilled,” Astronomer communicated in a statement to Us. “Andy Byron has submitted his resignation, which the Board of Directors has approved. The Board will initiate a search for our next Chief Executive, with Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy maintaining his role as interim CEO.”
Regarding Cabot, an Astronomer representative verified to Us on July 24 that she also had stepped down from her position as chief people officer.
As per People’s insider, both Byron and Cabot were present at the Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on July 16, accompanied by several friends.
The volume of media scrutiny, the source noted, affected a broader group of individuals beyond just Byron and Cabot.
“It is crucial to highlight how incorrectly Kristin has been branded — as someone who breaks up homes,” the source stated. “It is incomprehensible to observe these events unfold, and how destructive they can be, not merely for individuals, but for whole families. My overriding thought is that this sort of incident could affect any of us without warning. I believe the sheer amount of false information has been the most astonishing aspect to behold.”
The insider further commented, “These are genuine individuals and their families. The manner in which people have derived amusement from their predicament is difficult to witness.”
Us has contacted Astronomer for a statement. Neither Cabot nor Byron has made any public remarks about the unfolding events.
Kristin is reported to have initiated divorce proceedings from her spouse, Andrew Cabot, on August 13.
An advocate for Andrew subsequently informed People on September 8 that Kristin and her separated husband “had been privately and amicably living apart for several weeks prior to the Coldplay concert.”

The spokesperson further elaborated that the couple’s “resolution to divorce had already been set in motion before that particular evening. With the divorce filing now public, Andrew hopes this offers dignified finality to speculation and grants his family the discretion they have consistently cherished.”
Going forward, Kristin maintains a discreet presence, dedicating her attention to raising her children.
“Kristin remains, as she always has been, among the most diligent women I’ve encountered,” the source conveyed to People. “Kristin is surrounded by a supportive network of family and friends who understand and cherish her true self, and they will help her navigate through this period. Healing will require time.”
