Country Stars Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock Clash at Festival
A fiery confrontation appeared to erupt between country music artists Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock at Oklahoma's Born & Raised Festival.
In widely circulated social media clips from the festival on Saturday, September 13, Bryan, age 29, challenged Adcock, age 26, shouting, “Hey, do you want to settle this like men? Should we open these gates?” while they stood separated by a barbed wire barrier. He continued, “Or should I toss a beer or something?”
Bryan subsequently pushed against the fence and then scaled it, disregarding the visible barbed wire, to reach Adcock's location, only to be immediately intercepted and restrained by security personnel.
Adcock subsequently posted video of the incident on his Instagram account, commenting, “When you’re threatened by ‘Sack Cryin’’ right before your headlining set in his hometown. … Grab a Snickers, man.”
Gavin Adcock Criticizes Zach Bryan, Suggests He's Not a Very Good Person
Bryan has yet to make any public statement regarding the event. Us Weekly requested a comment from him.
Tension has been brewing between the two country artists throughout the summer, stemming from Adcock's earlier criticism of Bryan for purportedly declining to meet a young admirer following a performance.
“If you are unable to accept feedback from a 14-year-old, then why do people look up to you?” Adcock posted on X back in July. “That young fan was incredibly excited to meet you, and he/his parents invested a significant amount of money to attend your show. He has emotions just like anyone else, and you’re an 'adult' close to 30. Fans are the sole reason for your career.”
Bryan subsequently seemed to respond to the jab through a post on his own platform.
"After performing for two and a half hours, attendees are not automatically owed a photo or a greeting,” Bryan retorted to Adcock in an X post that has since been removed. “I did go out and take pictures on both the first and third nights. I had another concert scheduled for the following day, it was late, and I needed to get some rest.”
Adcock reaffirmed his position during an appearance on the “Nashville Now” podcast the subsequent month.
Zach Bryan's Trajectory: From Chart-Topping Tracks to Personal Splits
"The issue wasn't a refusal to sign autographs post-show; it was allowing a 14-year-old to express anger without responding with something like, ‘Leave me alone.’ You’re beyond that kind of behavior,” Adcock stated during the August broadcast. “I believe Zach Bryan often presents a facade in his daily life, and occasionally he reveals his true nature. I question whether Zach Bryan is genuinely a good individual.”
Bryan refrained from commenting on Adcock’s remarks at that moment, despite typically being vocal in his own defense and that of his close associates.
“All of you strange online trolls who are attacking and demeaning my friends on the internet because you're assuming I have a girlfriend are incredibly peculiar and warrant scientific observation,” Bryan declared during an Instagram Story outburst in January. “People question why I stopped touring and no longer wish to be associated with music, yet you're busy calling my friends unattractive and harassing them?”
