Demi Moore Stands By Bruce Willis At Charity Event For Frontotemporal Degeneration
Actress Demi Moore demonstrated her unwavering solidarity with her former spouse, Bruce Willis, by attending a recent charity event focused on frontotemporal degeneration.
Photographs circulated by various media sources confirm that Moore, at 62 years old, attended the Soho Sessions’ gathering in New York City on Wednesday, November 6. For the special evening, the esteemed actress, whose marriage to Willis spanned from 1987 to 2000, chose an ensemble featuring a black pea coat, a leather turtleneck, and matching trousers.
This philanthropic gathering aimed to raise funds for the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, paying tribute to Willis, 70, as he continues his fight against the illness. As reported by People, the evening's entertainment included performances by notable musicians such as Keith Richards, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, and Warren Hayne.
Beyond Moore, the event drew a host of other prominent celebrities. Among the distinguished attendees were Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Michael J. Fox, Tracy Pollan, and Whoopi Goldberg. Emma Heming Willis, Bruce Willis’ current wife, also participated and expressed her gratitude for the collective support.

“Firstly, I simply want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone for coming tonight,” Heming Willis addressed the assembly, as reported by People. “This is truly remarkable, and I deeply appreciate the efforts being made here at the Soho [Sessions] to elevate awareness for frontotemporal dementia. This initiative will unite all of Bruce’s friends and loved ones. So, thank you for your presence. I genuinely wish Bruce could be physically here, but his spirit is undoubtedly with us.”
It was in March 2022 that the family of Willis announced the Die Hard star had received a diagnosis of aphasia, a communication disorder. By the subsequent year, Willis’ health condition advanced to frontotemporal dementia, an illness known to affect an individual’s conduct and verbal abilities.
Having dedicated years to her husband’s care, Heming Willis disclosed in August that Willis has transitioned to a distinct dwelling where he receives round-the-clock professional assistance. This new home for Willis is conveniently situated near the residence he previously occupied with his wife and their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11. (It is also noted that Willis has three elder daughters, Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, from his former marriage to Moore.)
“Making that choice was among the most challenging decisions I’ve faced to date,” Heming Willis commented on her difficult resolution during an August conversation with Diane Sawyer. “However, I understood, above all else, that Bruce would desire this arrangement for our girls. He would want them to reside in an environment better suited to their requirements, rather than his own.”

Despite facing criticism regarding her decision, Heming Willis has firmly stood by her choice, asserting to Good Morning America in August, “This is genuinely not a matter open for discussion. I now have the assurance that Bruce receives optimal care at all times. His requirements are completely satisfied, as are those of our two young daughters. Therefore, I will not be seeking external approval on this matter.”
For her part, Moore has consistently offered her support to Heming Willis throughout the entirety of Willis’ challenging health journey.
“Operating as the former spouse, despite our family's profound interconnectedness, presents a unique dynamic,” Moore shared during a podcast interview in September. “A significant burden fell upon Emma to navigate this entire situation, and the most poignant realization was understanding the crucial need for caregivers to prioritize their own well-being. Should they neglect to invest that time in ensuring their own health, they cannot adequately be present for anyone else.”
