Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers Divorce Turns Contentious with Legal Battles and Reality TV Revelations

The protracted separation of Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers is evolving into a contentious legal dispute.

The former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills garnered media attention when her estranged spouse initiated divorce proceedings in July 2025, marking the end of their six-year marriage.

Since that time, the estranged couple has exchanged severe legal accusations in court filings as the divorce process continues. On one occasion, law enforcement was called to intervene in an incident.

“She has cherished him for all his efforts and backed his ambitions, but it has also created a substantial financial strain on her that she can no longer endure,” an insider conveyed to Us Weekly shortly after the divorce announcement. “It placed a burden on both of them.”

Denise Richards’ Trajectory in Reality Television

Although Us verified in July that Denise Richards & Her Wild Things was conceived by Bravo solely as a limited series and would therefore not be renewed for a second season, it seems Richards is slated to make some guest appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for its fifteenth season.

On August 2, paparazzi photographed Richards sharing a meal with Erika Jayne and Sutton Stracke at Madre in Los Angeles.

“We engaged in a pleasant conversation,” Jayne commented on iHeartRadio’s “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast following the encounter. “That’s all I can share. I wouldn’t wish what Denise is enduring upon anyone.”

Denise Richards Breaks Her Silence

Over a month after Phypers filed for divorce, Richards chose to post a rare video message to her admirers on social media.

“I’ve actually been posting on Instagram as if nothing significant is occurring in my life, and I can no longer maintain that, because something is clearly happening,” she stated via Instagram on August 21. “I simply wanted to, in all sincerity, express that this has been an … exceptionally, exceptionally, exceptionally challenging period. It is so difficult to navigate a divorce. … I truly just wanted to offer my profound gratitude for all your supportive, kind, thoughtful, encouraging messages, because this has been a very demanding time, and there are circumstances surrounding my divorce that are challenging to discuss.”

Richards indicated her intention to eventually disclose more about her marital dissolution, but is prioritizing “processing” the divorce at present.

Denise Richards’ Support Network

After addressing her divorce on social media, Richards received an outpouring of encouraging, positive feedback from fans and her Bravo colleagues, including Heather Dubrow, Meredith Marks, and Lisa Hochstein.

“This difficult period will also pass,” Kyle Richards penned in the comments section. Chrishell Stause appended, “Sending abundant affection your way.”

Denise Richards’ Forthcoming Engagements

In addition to maintaining her OnlyFans account — which charges subscribers over $67 for a three-month period — Richards has several projects lined up, including an appearance at Comic Con LA at the close of September.

She is also expected to feature in an independent action-thriller titled Dirty Hands.

Denise Richards’ Personal Life

Through all of life’s vicissitudes, Richards has consistently articulated the paramount importance of being an exemplary mother to her daughters. (She shares Sami, 21, and Lola, 20, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. Richards also welcomed daughter Eloise through adoption following her birth in May 2011.)

"My greatest source of pride is raising my children, particularly in an era vastly different from my own upbringing," Richards shared with People in 2019. "It is extraordinarily challenging to keep children grounded. This is not an easy time to come of age."

Her relationship with Sheen also appears amicable after Richards made an appearance to back her ex and attend the Hollywood premiere of Netflix’s aka Charlie Sheen on September 4.
