Diddy Finds New Calling Teaching Business Acumen to Inmates
Incarcerated music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has discovered a novel calling while imprisoned: instructing fellow detainees in business acumen they can apply after their liberation.
Raymond Castillo, who previously served time alongside Diddy, 56, at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, gave an exclusive interview to Us Weekly, detailing the beneficial transformation the rapper’s “Free Game With Diddy” initiative introduced to the correctional facility.
“Following that, things proceeded smoothly. Diddy fostered cohesion within the block, as it had previously been quite fractured,” Castillo shared with Us on Thursday, November 13, further explaining that “everyone was isolated” before the embattled entrepreneur launched his course.
“Even correctional officers, administrators, and deputy wardens who attended the sessions observed him bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, all within a single space,” he further elaborated.

Castillo mentioned that Diddy instructed his peers “on crafting a viable, effective strategy, along with the necessary concessions and actions required to execute it.”
He also stated that these core teachings empowered them to “achieve triumph in life and understand the inherent worth, objective, and significance in all aspects of existence.”
“The seminar left an incredibly strong impression,” Castillo remarked, revealing that Diddy assigned tasks, such as daily hour-long reading, diligent note-taking, and presenting those findings to the group. Diddy would subsequently “provide commentary on their observations and advise on integrating them into daily routines.”
Castillo stated that Diddy’s instruction was “strengthening our resolve and instilling optimism.”
“The course affected everyone profoundly. It prompted a shift in perspective, increased self-worth, and fostered a deeper connection with self-appreciation,” he informed Us. “It inspired a desire for improvement.”
The six-week program Diddy conducted at MDC Brooklyn, which he plans to introduce at his new correctional facility in Fort Dix, also had a transformative effect on the instructor himself.
“He expressed that individuals require assistance. And he feels his placement there serves a particular objective,” Castillo elaborated concerning Diddy. “He declared he had rediscovered his calling. He rekindled his fervor, his affection.”
Upon his eventual release from incarceration, Diddy purportedly informed Castillo of his intention to tour youth detention facilities and introduce his “Free Game” initiative for at-risk adolescents.

As per Castillo, Diddy leveraged his own life story to establish rapport with the detainees throughout his teaching sessions.
“He didn't just present his successes. He encouraged us to consider his journey as a cautionary tale. He shared his missteps, urging us to avoid narcotics, as they inevitably lead to ruin,” he conveyed.
Castillo further attributes securing employment mere weeks after his release to the instruction he received.
“Since my discharge, I have maintained a proper course. I am significantly better equipped. Presently, I possess a concrete strategy,” he declared. “This is entirely attributable to the course. Such an outcome would have been unattainable without it.”

Juda Engelmayer, Diddy’s representative, previously informed Us that the “Free Game With Diddy” curriculum “will be identical or highly comparable” to the one he intends to teach at Fort Dix.
The course outline, exclusively acquired by Us, detailed the instructional modules, including one session dedicated entirely to fostering humility.
Diddy was apprehended in September 2024. He faced accusations of racketeering conspiracy, human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and facilitating transportation for prostitution. He entered a plea of not guilty and refuted all accusations leveled against him.
During July, he received convictions on two counts related to transportation but was cleared of the other accusations. Last month, he received a cumulative sentence of 50 months in federal prison. The 13 months already served at MDC will be credited against his total sentence.
The music artist was relocated to Fort Dix in New Jersey towards the end of October. His projected liberation date was recently extended due to allegations of alcohol consumption. Engelmayer, however, refuted the drinking assertion to Us.
Diddy is currently anticipated to be released on June 6, 2028.
