Dierks Bentley Debunks Sleeping Setup Myths with Two Beds and a Dog

The sleeping setup for country star Dierks Bentley and his wife, Cassidy Black, might be less unconventional than initially perceived by his admirers.
“This is why I avoid podcasts,” the 49-year-old Bentley shared on Instagram on Thursday, September 4. “Here’s our method. While I enjoy the jolt of my old single-axle, leaf-spring Chevy pickup, for sleeping, we favor ‘independent suspension.’ It seems our grandparents were on to something, a practice widely adopted globally outside the U.S. even now.”
Through several images, the country artist displayed two ZINUS moiz wooden platform bed bases, positioned side-by-side to form a singular, expansive sleeping area.
The sole divider between these two bed structures—each costing under $132 on Amazon—was their household pet.

“Similar to how a well-executed mullet provides professionalism at the front and celebration at the back, this arrangement accommodates both functions intended for this particular room,” Bentley elaborated in his update. “Should you feel inclined, give this method a try. You can express your gratitude to me and these $131 Amazon beds later. (Canine companion not supplied) Shoutout to @mrbobbybones @thebobbycast.”
During his guest spot on the Tuesday, September 2, installment of the “Bobbycast” podcast, Bentley garnered significant attention by detailing his sleeping setup with his wife of nearly two decades.
“I chose to maintain a clear distinction, so I removed our shared bed and instead acquired two platform bases, two box springs, and two mattresses,” Bentley—who concluded The Broken Branches Tour in August—explained to podcast personality Bobby Bones. “I possess my own comforter, and she has hers; a distinct boundary exists. The floor is visible separating her bed from mine.”
The designer for Flag & Anthem—who labels himself an “awful sleeper”—likened the sleeping configuration to “independent suspension,” posing the question to his audience, “Why opt for a truck with leaf springs when independent suspension is an option?”

“This allows her to move freely as she wishes,” he went on to say. “And should you require additional rest, you can subtly shift her bed slightly further away.”
Following the release of several images to his fans, clarifying his situation, Bentley received supportive reactions from his audience, notably Miranda Lambert, who “liked” the update.
“Haha, I’m pleased you explained; it’s a fully European approach,” Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn commented. Another admirer remarked, “Your explanation brings a smile to my face; everything seems harmonious in the Bentley home!”
