Dolores Catania's Home Invaded by Burglars Using a Blowtorch
Dolores Catania disclosed that her residence was recently burglarized while she and her partner, Paul “Paulie” Connell, were away.
“Our home was invaded last week … or perhaps two weeks prior,” the 54-year-old personality from Real Housewives of New Jersey stated during her Monday, October 6, guest spot on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “They gained entry using a blowtorch.”
The disclosure from Catania prompted multiple audible gasps and astonished reactions from the studio audience before she proceeded to recount the event’s particulars.
“We were vacationing in Rhode Island, and as I mentioned previously, I was scheduled to make some guest appearances for the forthcoming [Real] Housewives of Rhode Island, where we were actively filming,” she explained. “Paulie had deactivated his phone and was engaging with everyone present.”

Catania elaborated that she and Connell were just having an enjoyable evening out. During their leisure time, Dolores observed that Connell’s son was attempting to reach her. (Paulie is a father to two boys, Brooklyn and Kameron, from his previous marriage to Joanne Connell. Dolores, meanwhile, has a son named Frankie and a daughter named Gabby with her former spouse, Frank Catania.)
“My cell phone was ringing persistently, and I recognized it was his child,” she recounted. “I consistently respond to the children, even if I am in the midst of a shoot. He asked, ‘Is my dad present? The residence has just been burglarized.’”
Although Paulie initially didn't catch what his son communicated to Dolores, he inferred the gravity of the situation from her shocked demeanor.
“My initial thought was that something had occurred to one of my own children or another person’s child … but [the intrusion] turned out to be quite severe,” Paulie clarified.
At the moment of the occurrence, neither Dolores's nor Paulie's children were present at the house. Paulie’s son was informed after law enforcement reached out to him to describe the event.

“Evidently, the intruders gained entry using a blowtorch. They shattered the window,” Paulie described. “They applied heat to it to prevent triggering the security system, allowing it to break silently.”
Dolores mentioned that Paulie has an “exceptionally advanced alarm system” in their residence which vocally commands any “intruder” to “leave.” The television personality shared a positive update: the supposed thieves “failed to take anything” due to the swift response of the authorities.
“They remained within the property for approximately a minute and a fraction,” Paulie stated. “They dedicated eight minutes to gaining entry because they employed this torch, as the glass was reinforced. Therefore, instead of breaking the glass and activating the alarm, they heated it.”
Although the purported burglars attempted to circumvent the security system by heating the window, their presence activated the internal motion sensor. The system usually maintains silence for the initial “ninety seconds” before the alarm sounds and notifies law enforcement.

Dolores subsequently offered counsel to everyone, aiming to assist them in avoiding becoming a victim.
“I wish for everyone to be aware of this. We all enjoy sharing our activities when we are traveling or away; Paulie posted about our day in Rhode Island … and that very evening, our home was invaded,” she mused.
Paulie playfully noted that he isn't the sole individual guilty of such actions, as Dolores had previously done likewise during their recent excursion to Brazil. When questioned about whether Dolores secures her valuable possessions in a safe, she issued an additional caution to anyone contemplating an intrusion into their home.
“There’s no point in attempting to breach our residence,” she retorted.
