Donald Trump Jr. has provided additional insight into his recent engagement to Bettina Anderson.
During a surprise birthday celebration for his fiancée in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump, aged 47, recounted the proposal story to guests, saying, “We entered, and the space was fully adorned.” This anecdote was captured in a video posted on Instagram by friends John and Diane Sculley.
Trump elaborated that he repeatedly attempted to divert Anderson's attention, as she “was discussing different subjects,” in order to retrieve the ring from his pocket without her notice.
He continued by explaining, “She kept maintaining eye contact with me.”

The couple revealed their engagement during a White House gathering on Monday, December 15, which they attended with Donald Jr.’s father, President Donald Trump, as documented by social media videos.
Footage from a holiday party captured Donald Jr. addressing attendees and thanking Anderson specifically “for saying that one word — yes.”
He added, “She accepted, which is a significant victory to close out the year.”
Anderson subsequently delivered her own address, speaking directly to her future father-in-law.
She expressed her gratitude, stating, “Wow, what an honor to be present at the White House, Mr. President. We appreciate you hosting such a marvelous event.” Anderson then offered praise to first lady Melania Trump, adding, “And regarding our first lady, those decorations … I mean, they are truly astonishing.”
Anderson concluded, “This has truly been the most memorable weekend of my life, and I am marrying the person I love most. I consider myself the most fortunate woman on earth.”
Donald Jr. and Anderson began their relationship in late 2024. They made their first public appearance on the red carpet at a pre-Super Bowl event in February.
A source close to the couple informed Us Weekly four months afterward that they were prepared to advance their relationship to the next level.
The insider noted, “She aspires to have children eventually and recognizes his qualities as an excellent father. She would absolutely accept a marriage proposal from him, and his friends anticipate it will occur in the near future.”
The source further commented, “He conducts himself as a perfect gentleman, performing actions like seating her first, allowing her to order first, and generally treating her exceptionally well.”
In contrast, Anderson is described as “introverted yet humorous, and Don admires her ability to let him socialize with others, engage with his male friends, participate in independent discussions, and enjoy herself.”

Prior to this relationship, Donald Jr. was married to Vanessa Trump; their union lasted from 2005 to 2018. They have five children together: daughters Kai, 18, and Chloe, 11, alongside sons Donald III, 16, Tristan, 14, and Spencer, 13.
Following the conclusion of his divorce from Vanessa, 47, Donald Jr. initiated a relationship with former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle. The couple became engaged in December 2020 before separating in late 2024.
A source confirmed exclusively to Us in December 2024 that “Don and Kimberly ended their relationship prior to the election and began asset division proceedings near the end of September.”
In a separate statement to Page Six during that period, Donald Jr. stated, “Kimberly and I will always maintain affection for each other and share a unique connection. I am extremely proud of her and the vital work she will continue to perform [as U.S. ambassador to Greece].”
