Edwards Accuses Ex of Monetizing Their Daughter Through Social Media

NBA sensation Anthony Edwards has accused his former partner, Ayesha Howard, of exploiting their daughter, Aubri’ Summers Howard, as a “source of income” and profiting from her through social media content, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.
On Tuesday, September 30, Edwards submitted court documents expressing his desire to conclude this legal dispute as quickly as possible. The ex-couple has been involved in court proceedings continually since Aubri’'s birth in October 2024.
Edwards, 24, initiated a paternity suit in Georgia, while Howard filed her own case in California. The Los Angeles judge subsequently granted Howard sole legal and physical custody.
Following this ruling, the parties have been in contention over the custody paperwork. Howard alleged that Edwards’ legal team attempted to include a non-disparagement clause, while Edwards claimed Howard demanded $500,000 and a public apology during their negotiations.
In a new legal submission, the Minnesota Timberwolves star’s attorney asserted, “Ayesha has explicitly turned these proceedings into public entertainment. On September 28, 2025, she posted on social media declaring this case ‘very much open to the public to look into,’ inviting hundreds of thousands of strangers to examine private family court matters.”
Edwards’ lawyer further stated, “Every court filing becomes a post, every hearing becomes content, and every delay allows continued exploitation of this infant child who cannot consent to becoming a digital commodity.”

He added, “The evidence before the Court establishes that Ayesha treats the minor child as a revenue-generating asset.”
The NBA star’s legal team alleged Howard “has publicly admitted to forcing her distressed child to continue performing for social media content, stating, ‘my baby is over content for the day, but momma gotta get back to work.’”
Edwards’ legal team also noted, “She coordinates the child’s appearances with sponsored product placements, monetizing every moment of this infant’s existence. The ongoing custody case provides the dramatic narrative that drives engagement metrics and sponsorship dollars.”
Edwards’ team contended that Howard’s strategy “serves her social media narrative.”

“Each court filing generates posts about her ‘fight’ for her child. Each denial becomes evidence of ‘injustice’ to share with followers. Each court appearance provides content for stories and updates,” Edwards’ attorney explained. “She has discovered that perpetual conflict is more profitable than resolution, and this innocent child pays the price through ongoing instability and public exposure.”
The attorney remarked, “Every day this case remains pending enables further exploitation and harm. Ayesha continues posting the child on social media, discussing these proceedings publicly, and inviting stranger scrutiny of private family matters.”
As Us first disclosed, Howard denied that her financial demand was linked to the custody paperwork.

Howard informed Us, “I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders. I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”
Howard shares a son with rapper Lil Baby. As Us first reported, Edwards is currently engaged in a separate paternity dispute with another former partner named Alexandria Desroches. Desroches claims Edwards is the biological father of her child, born in October 2023.
