Elizabeth Olsen Finds Her Perfect Match in Robbie Arnett Acknowledging Him as Her "Easiest Person to Be With"
Actress Elizabeth Olsen has discovered her perfect lasting connection with her spouse, Robbie Arnett.
“Before meeting him, I hadn't even considered wanting to get married or have children,” Olsen, 36, shared during the Thursday, December 4, installment of the “Dear Chelsea” podcast. “When we initially began our relationship, I was in the midst of renovating a home. About half a year in, I understood we would likely cohabit in this residence and wished for him to contribute to decisions, ensuring it felt like ‘our’ home instead of just ‘mine’.”
She added, “Following a brief period of cohabitation, I recognized that he is genuinely the easiest person to be with and the most significant source of encouragement I have.”
Olsen and Arnett, 33, began their relationship in 2017, tying the knot in 2020, three years subsequent to their initial meeting.
A Chronicle of Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett’s Romance
“He possesses such a wonderful blend of sweetness, humor, wit, and intelligence,” Olsen enthusiastically told podcast host Chelsea Handler. “His daily objective is to elicit laughter from me, which can be frustrating when I'm upset with him. He accomplishes this quite promptly, often in the early hours. He's remarkable. He is an empathetic, gentle, and highly communicative individual.”
Olsen went on to explain how Arnett stacks up against her on-screen spouses in the film Eternity. (The A24 production features Olsen as Joan, who, after her passing, must select which of her two deceased partners, portrayed by Miles Teller and Callum Turner, she will spend her post-mortem existence with.)
“A key reason I was drawn to Eternity when I first read the script is that I genuinely see my husband mirroring a Larry,” Olsen stated, referencing Teller’s character. “My husband exhibits extreme neurotic tendencies, frequently feels uneasy, and consistently experiences some minor ailment, be it his tailbone, his little finger, or another body part. These are always these slight, unusual issues, often with legitimate medical explanations, but he then constructs elaborate narratives around them.”
Although Olsen appreciates many of Arnett’s elaborate anecdotes, their engagement story could very well be the most memorable.

“Upon our engagement, we visited a location in Northern California, and he seemed extremely frustrated by the absence of a cheeseboard,” she recounted on Thursday. “He requested one, and once it arrived, I remarked, ‘You’ve never shown such concern for a cheeseboard before,’ and he was visibly panicking.”
Olsen also noted that Arnett was quite bothered by his inability to ignite a fire at their accommodation.
“He exclaimed, ‘What sort of man can't even get a fire going?’ He was incredibly harsh on himself,” Olsen explained. “He felt, ‘It would be humiliating if I had to request assistance to start a fire.’ Subsequently, about half an hour later, he proposed while we were outdoors, but he felt the presence of both a cheeseboard and a fire was essential to create a romantic atmosphere.”
Fortunately for Arnett, Olsen didn't perceive the moment as any less romantic and readily agreed to his proposal.
“He attempted to kneel … but we were standing on a wooden pier,” she continued. “He dropped to his knee and immediately exclaimed, ‘Ow, that genuinely stings’ before standing back up. It was solely the two of us, and not a single photograph exists. It was truly wonderful. I cherished it profoundly simply because it was uniquely him.”
