Elon Musk Faces Backlash as AI Tool Grok Generates Explicit Images of Alleged Mother
The alleged mother of Elon Musk’s 13th child, Ashley St. Clair, has strongly criticized X after its artificial intelligence technology, Grok, reportedly produced sexually explicit images of her.
Speaking to Inside Edition in an interview airing on Friday, January 9, St. Clair described feeling “deeply disturbed and violated” following the alleged generation of these images.
“I received a text from a friend, shortly after I had put my son to sleep, so I was thinking, ‘Oh my goodness, what could this be now?’ And I discovered that Grok was digitally removing my clothing and had taken a fully clothed photograph of me. Someone requested it to put me in a bikini, and it complied,” she stated.
St. Clair continued, “These are authentic images of me that they then manipulated and altered to undress me. So, they located a photograph of me when I was 14 years old and instructed Grok to undress 14-year-old me and place me in a bikini.”
Elon Musk Allegedly Offered Ashley St. Clair $15 Million to Keep Baby Secret: Report
The writer and political strategist explained that she demanded X remove the images and experienced mixed outcomes.
St. Clair said that some of the artificially created images were deleted promptly while others took “36 hours” to be taken down. However, St. Clair claimed that “others remain online.”
Inside Edition’s Eva Pilgrim directly questioned St. Clair if Musk, 54, was aware of these images being created by Grok and shared via X and, if so, whether he was taking any steps to halt or prevent the issue.
“It appears he is aware of the problem,” St. Clair responded. “That’s a crucial question people should pose to him.”
While Musk did not comment during the Inside Edition interview, he previously responded to an X user on January 4 who voiced concerns about Grok generating these types of images.
“Anyone utilizing Grok to create unlawful content will face the same consequences as if they uploaded unlawful content,” Musk wrote via X.
Us Weekly has contacted Musk’s representative for a statement.
St. Clair became a subject of public attention in February 2025 when she announced Musk’s purported paternity of her baby boy, Romulus, asserting that her son was the Tesla founder’s 13th child. (Shivon Zilis revealed the birth of Musk’s 14th child later that same month.)
“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father,” St. Clair wrote via X. “I have not previously revealed this to safeguard our child’s privacy and safety, but recently it has become evident that tabloid media intends to disclose this information, regardless of the harm it will inflict.”
The subsequent month, Musk addressed St. Clair’s paternity claims and a subsequent legal dispute against him without confirming whether he was her son’s biological father.
Where Elon Musk Stands With the Mothers of His 13 Children
“I am unsure if the child is mine or not but am open to finding out. No court order is necessary,” he wrote via X. Musk then claimed, “Despite not being certain, I have provided Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500K/year.”
St. Clair responded to Musk’s comments via her own message via X the same month.
“Elon, we requested you confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused,” she alleged at the time. “And you weren’t sending me money, you were providing support for your child that you believed was required … until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for ‘disobedience.’ But you’re truly only punishing your son.”
In addition to allegedly fathering St. Clair’s son, Musk is the biological father of 13 other children. He welcomed six kids with his former wife, Justine Musk, three with musician Grimes and four with technology executive Zillis.
