This is not the life I had envisioned for us,” Emma, 47, expressed during the End Well 2025 conference in Los Angeles on November 20. “I was compelled to make the most advantageous and secure decision for our family, and I knew that being forthright and transparent about it would invite considerable judgment.”
Emma highlighted that those who criticize are “on the outside,” while she has received extensive backing from their relatives.
“Because they comprehend, they are immersed in this reality, and I am fortunate to have this beautiful blended family,” she continued during the End Well panel. “I also have Bruce's mother, who is in her nineties. I have Bruce's brother and sister and cousins, and they have all shown such immense love, support, and an absence of judgment.”
It was disclosed by Emma during ABC’s Emma and Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey, which premiered in August, that she and Bruce, 70, reside in separate homes as the actor continues his battle with frontotemporal dementia.
