Entertainment World Mourns the Loss of Beloved Icons in 2025
The entertainment world has paid tribute to a number of its iconic figures who passed away throughout 2025.
During the summer months, the industry bid farewell to personalities such as Anne Burrell, Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk Hogan, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Brandon Blackstock. September marked the passing of esteemed actor Robert Redford.
October saw the departure of notable figures including renowned zoologist Jane Goodall, actress Diane Keaton, Grammy-winning R&B artist D’Angelo, among others. The subsequent month, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland passed away at 24, and Oscar-nominated actress Pauline Collins, aged 85, succumbed to Parkinson’s disease.
The month of November commenced with the passing of actress Sally Kirkland and former ABC News correspondent Jim Avila; additionally, musician Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Prince associate Jellybean Johnson were also lost. Towards the end of November, German actor Udo Kier, music legend Jimmy Cliff, and esteemed playwright Tom Stoppard also departed, alongside rapper Poorstacy.
