Erika Kirk Honors Late Husband Charlie Kirk with Heartfelt Thanksgiving Message
Erika Kirk (née Frantzve) honored her departed husband, Charlie Kirk, on their inaugural Thanksgiving since his passing.
“Thanksgiving was a cherished occasion for Charlie and me, as it consistently brought us back to the profound yet simple act of giving thanks,” the 37-year-old Erika expressed in a Thursday, November 27, Instagram post accompanying a video showing her navigating a space abundant with correspondence and presents destined for her loved ones.
She further elaborated, “Even amidst this profound sorrow, and perhaps especially within its depths, I find myself recalling that deep sense of gratitude. I am blessed by God with the privilege of having been wed to my soulmate, with our precious children, with our supportive family and friends, and with the incredible kindness of individuals globally who have extended their compassion through letters, playthings, creative works, and Bibles.”
Erika noted that while “it’s tempting to dwell on what has been lost,” she recognizes that “what endures is hallowed.”

“The immense wave of affection shown to myself and our children is beyond words,” Erika penned, referencing her son and daughter shared with Charlie. “I am diligently poring over every letter and card, unwrapping each present, and carefully preserving them all for when they come of age. My gratitude extends to a God who inspires renewal from despair, who shields my heart, and who sustains us as we strive forward... in the present moment and always.”
The entrepreneur concluded her message, stating, “We’ll keep a place setting reserved for you, my love. I adore you, @charliekirk1776, happy Thanksgiving.”
The visual tribute featured an audio excerpt from Erika's recent guest spot on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” in which she disclosed that discussions about Charlie residing in “heaven” are a regular occurrence between herself and her 3-year-old daughter.
“I present it in a very engaging way. I tell her, ‘Daddy had a wonderful day today.’ To everyone who has penned letters and dispatched gifts to my children, my heartfelt thanks. I convey to her, and to my son, who is merely a year and a half old, ‘Daddy is asking all his friends to send you presents and notes, and Daddy is arranging from heaven to ensure you constantly feel cherished,’” she narrated in the segment from the November 24 podcast installment.
Erika elaborated, “Just recently, she asked, ‘Tell me about Daddy’s day in heaven.’ So, we simply discuss that each evening. And occasionally, I’ll inquire, ‘What do you imagine he did in heaven today?’ We just, I endeavor to make it joyful because, truly, heaven is our eternal abode. And so, I simply wish for her to understand that Daddy is experiencing immense joy and preparing a dwelling for her and our family there.”
Charlie, at the age of 31, tragically passed away on September 10, having been fatally shot during a public address for his philanthropic entity, Turning Point USA, at Utah Valley University.

Erika publicly addressed her husband's demise two days subsequent to the event, through a livestream broadcast on his X (formerly Twitter) platform.
“Charlie cherished existence. He adored his own life, he held a deep affection for America, and he was passionate about nature, which invariably drew him nearer to the divine,” she recounted then. “He was fond of the Chicago Cubs, and oh, how profoundly he loved the Oregon Ducks.”
Erika went on, stating, “Above all, Charlie adored his children, and he loved me wholeheartedly, a truth I recognized daily. He consistently ensured I was aware of it. Each day, he would inquire, ‘How might I better support you? How can I improve as a husband? How can I be a more exemplary father?’… He was, and remains, an exceptionally fine individual. He embodied the ideal father. He was the quintessential husband.”
