Erika Kirk Takes Helm of Turning Point USA After Husband Charlie Kirk's Death
Following the passing of her husband, Charlie Kirk, his widow, Erika Kirk (formerly Frantzve), has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and board chair for Turning Point USA.
“As King Solomon penned in Ecclesiastes, humanity is meant to be challenged by the divine. We confront such a challenge today, yet we also hold the conviction that God has equipped us with all necessities to surmount this trial,” announced a statement released by the organization’s board on Thursday, September 18. “It was our immense privilege to be board members alongside Charlie. He readied us all for a circumstance like this.”
The announcement proceeded, “He dedicated immense effort to guarantee that Turning Point USA was constructed to endure even the most significant trials. And now, we are immensely proud to declare Erika Kirk as the incoming CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA.”
A companion social media update indicated Erika’s “unanimous election” by the board, highlighting that Charlie had previously “communicated” these desires “should he pass away.” Charlie established Turning Point USA in 2012 with Bill Montgomery as a non-profit entity promoting conservative principles within high school and university settings.

Erika, aged 36, wed Charlie in May 2021. They are parents to two children: a daughter born in August 2022 and a son born in May 2024.
“Each of us at Turning Point USA holds a crucial responsibility in continuing Charlie Kirk’s legacy and realizing his aspiration of guiding us closer to our Creator and cultivating a flourishing nation for future generations,” Thursday’s declaration further stated. “As Charlie often articulated, ‘We must save our country.’ We will not yield or bow to malevolence. We will persist.”
The Turning Point Board has unanimously chosen Erika Kirk to be the next CEO and Chair of the Board.

The communication concluded by stating, “The effort to undermine Charlie’s endeavors will transform into our opportunity to render them more robust and permanent than at any prior time.”
The choice made by Turning Point USA follows over a week after Charlie’s fatal shooting during an address at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old at the time.
Tyler Robinson surrendered to authorities and was apprehended concerning Charlie’s demise. The 22-year-old faces charges of a capital offense, aggravated murder, and felony firearm discharge, in addition to several minor charges such as obstruction of justice, tampering with a witness, and committing a violent act in front of a minor.
Robinson’s initial court appearance occurred on Tuesday, September 16, though the accused refrained from entering a plea. He will stay incarcerated in the Utah County Jail without the possibility of bail. His subsequent hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 29.
